Reviews for "Darkbase: incubation"

awesome

great work!

it's ok

would be better if lgith range covered a larger area, cuz when in dark, i got hit by monsters, and instead of being a chaellenge, it was annoying cuz i had to get back to heal everytime that hapned.

besides that, nice work.

DOGFISH LIVES!

First, the right sequence for the doors on either level 4 is (if numbering 1-4 from left to right) 2314.

Next, I decided to peek at the walkthrough for the game and saw that there was a boss on level 5. It doesn't necessarily specify much on what you are supposed to do with the beam. All you do is run really quickly back to the beam after you[ve opened the door and he's at your heels practically. Then just run behind and activate the controls while he's in the line of fire.

Now, the only thing that is bugging me is that I can't find a walkthrough for that last level. It seems straight forward to a degree, but the fact there are so many aliens that usually kill me before I run out of time, I just don't know. If someone has made it through, please post a walkthrough for JUST the last level ; p

Now, actually about the flash itself... It was extremely fun. I will comment on the flashlight first. It did come in handy and I liked it after I got used to it. I didn't use it too incredibly much, but it was ok for me.

I loved the creature designs. They really made me wanna keep playing cause I loved how they moved. : ) They were also semi-scary when they randomly came out of nowhere and started running after me for a few screens. The assortment of critters and their bigger brothers was well sorted throughout the different levels, and as far as the small ones go, they made me actually get a feel for the actual infestation of the ship.

The music was great, and I actually got a little excited as well as a little freaked out each time it changed to the heavy stuff because I knew what was coming. It was thrilling to be going up against a hord of them running at me, but scary in the fact that they were all trying to kill me x.x

It is possible to get through this game with just the basic pistol for the most part (except on level 6), but personally I don't think it detracted from the game play really. The fact that I found out about that bullet reset on gun pickup kinda sucked when I found out about it, but I got through alright since I was enjoying stressing myself against enemies with just the pistol : )

About the enemies... The larger ones will sometimes hang out in corners until you get close and their motion sensor is set active. It can make for an easier kill for some of them. Considering it was a flash and gamelplay wasn't actualy detracted from, they are kept in motion even while they are hanging out in said corners. Occasionally with the tiny buggers, they will stop and wait for you to get close again sometimes. It might be a glitch or it might not be since it happened a fair amount with me. Occasonally the runners can get suckeed into walls, but that only happened one single time for me, I believe on level 3, and it was only one single redback that got in there, but he made it back out.

As far as the overall graphics go for the game, definitely done well. The fog can be a little annoying at times, but it is already been said that the game is achievable without the flashlight, although if you become comfortable with it, it does become quite useful in these cases.. whether or not this is some future advanced technology or whatever... who cares overall? The flashlight works for the game if you are comfortable with it, and quite honestly if you are too an*l (asterisked in case of perverts) that you have to even care about the length of light from a flashlight, I think you may need to take a break and possibly re-evaluate what is really placed as important, maybe not just on a game...

Anyway, overall, I find this game to be very well done and definitely replayable atleast once ; ) All I can say now is that sadly I am short of filling up about only 363 more characters.

Xplored responds:

That's one of the best testing we have ever got back! Thanks.
We don't like your feedback for the "10" vote you gave us (...of course we like it a lot, but this is a different thing compared to a good critic testing), but 'cause it's clear you plaid the game deeply and looked at the details.
As I'm gooing to write in other replies, we know and confirm many listed comments/critics that players wrote here.
We'll work on that list for the next coming sequel of the game saga "DarkBase".
We hope to enjoy you again as much as with "DarkBase: incubation"... at least.
Thanks.

Scary!

Best 1D horror game ever!

nice

hey on the level right after then level you hear about the Behemoth, i cant get to the end, there's no way out the 3 doors are just closed so i quit there after like an hour, but all in all good work.
