dj-padman1 responds:

Thanks TJA, I'm grateful for the time you've taken to listen and review :)

Vocals would be a definate plus, I just need a vocalist!

Not a fan of House but...

You totally got me into house! I love the glitching too! I really liked how the synth fitted in with the overall glitching and the bass. I love the fill in you're beat, and the sweeps too. This is a totally flawless house song! I love this too! Its usually very very hard to get me into house!
Great Job!

dj-padman1 responds:

Thanks very much DJKorrupt, your encouragement is most appreciated.
I'm pretty certain it's not totally flawless (lol) but thanks for your positive remarks ;P

love it (have no idea what house is)

what is house any way? what ever it is i like it and need more. very good very good work.

dj-padman1 responds:

House, house....there's so many different kinds!
Generally, it's moderately fast, about 120-130 bpm. Very regular 'four on the floor' beat (kick drum on quarternotes), and it will usually have a very prominent bassline. It's a kind of a cruisy, funky style.
I'm more into electro though, denser more crowded production and lots of vintage old school synths.

Thanks for the review dude :)

i loved it

this is now my official cruisin track. Hear me out! you need to start a myspace band profile so i can put your song 5 Train as my profile song. Pleeze i'm begging you man!

dj-padman1 responds:

Hey man, thanks for the review. I have been meaning to start a myspace page. Maybe your flattering request will be the push I need to get my lazy ass in gear. I'll drop you a line when I make it :)

An oldie but goodie

I have carried around a small collection of your songs on my ipod for years now. This doesn't seem like 2006, but it is. I randomly decided to look you up to see what kind of stuff you've been putting up, and my, your repertoire has grown! However, this is the track that really drew me to you. It's got a good, unique flavor that I would definitely be able to pick out in a crowd, and my favorite from you.
Although these reviews are quite old, I completely disagree with Zedar. I don't think this track tries too hard at all. And it isn't cheese. It feels pretty complete, which is to say I would have nothing to add. On my playlist, Manic Forfeit comes right after this song, and this one would be far more danceable, and I can grasp the melody perfectly. (Manic seems to have snippets of this melody, which is why I compare them.) Five Train commands attention. I am left thoroughly satisfied and entertained. Your sound is FAT. I like the layers, and I like the way that the percussion moves. I find variation to be much more aesthetically pleasing to the ears. It has a good, quick pace, and the end brings the whole production around again. I could basically have this track on repeat for an hour and still be grooving. I wouldn't come back to it if I wasn't tapping my foot to the rhythm. Really. You are for sure one of the better musicians on NG. You, kingbastard/myheadisaballoon, cornandbeans, and doki are the only NG artists I have kept in my library, and if those three can release albums, so can you. Unless you already have in this span of four years and I just haven't heard about it! Why don't you have your own website? Do you go under another pseudonym? I'd like to download your entire discography in one fell swoop, as it's a bit tedious to go one by one on here.
Please keep doing what you're doing. Looking forward to digging through more of your stuff!
