Nice level. :)

Engaging AND Fun

I have a fondness for hacking-simulators in general. One of my early favourites was a Windows-based game called 'Decker'. It was a fun little game, with a nice difficulty curve, but its mission structure just had you accept missions, do them, collect cash, repeat.

Even though this game didn't have an upgrade system, I like it more than Decker just because it gave a storyline to attach the gameplay to. When I had characters and a goal to identify with, I was a lot more motivated and interested to get through the puzzles.

Which was another point in the game's favour... making each hacking stage a puzzle, and often a difficult one, made it a better game than Decker simply because it became more than just clicking a button and letting stats calculate. Solving a puzzle meant you, the player, used your brain to pass that stage. Which gives the player a much better sense of accomplishment and ownership over winning.

Top marks for you. 10/10, 5/5.

And for the record, I thought the fictional country mentioned seemed to have more in common with Burma and perhaps a more ruthless version of Signapore than China.

Great game, perfect difficulty

I played through all the levels (no DDOS because every puzzle made me want to solve it :) and all the challenges.

I didn't find any too hard once I figured out what to do. I think the difficulty level is just right, the puzzles were very satisfying to solve but none were impossible.

Amazing puzzle game.

I started this game looking at the tutorials thinking, "Nothing new here." I was proven wrong when I actually began to play.

The design of each new code had me thinking, and the later codes (particularly some of Chapter 2's and most of 3's) had me stumped for minutes.

The story itself was fairly predictable, but that's okay. The concept of being told the story through correspondence with your friend and news reports was, admittedly, a touch I enjoyed.

I had to complete the challenges after the story mode, and I was again stumped on some of them. The game really left me with a sense of accomplishment every time I completed one of the harder codes.

The music set the mood of the game well, even though I only recall it changing at the very end of Chapter 3. Normally that would get points off, but as I said, it fit very well with the subject matter.

My closing words - I'm totally going to use that recipe you gave as a bonus. That, and I expect to see more great things from you, Weir. After The Majesty of Colors, Bars of Black and White, and this game, I can say I'm eagerly looking forward to your next release.

That was bloody awesome!

Highly engaging, from beginning to end. I ended up only using one DDoS bomb, because I didn't want to waste any more time or brain power. I felt like a real white hat for a while there.
