nice start
i liked this game. I think you have a strong basic layout. If you contine to update this game and improve your animation skills slightly then you might just have a hit on your hands

Like the pink enemies idea! Pace was good too. It is REALLY hurting for some sound though - doesn't even have to be music, just some sounds when enemies come onscreen, or when you attack, or when you get hurt, or when you jump - something. The save system will be very helpful when you add some length, so nice inclusion there. Slap on some sound and content and this'll be a beaut!
Interesting
While it may look sloppy to some, I actually enjoyed the 'turn around to defend' control style. Good start.

but the controls seem a little odd, and like its really
hard to avoid/dodge the enemy pixil, and perhaps more
then just a pixel stick figure for a hero, try useing
a more 8bit type character, otherther then that it
was pretty good
