A good twist
I liked it a lot, my only complaint is that sometimes when the ball changes speed (i.e back to normal from slow) it will take off at a completely different direction than it was previously going. Also, if two slows are captured with overlapping times, they double, so the ball barely moves anywhere. I think it should be that the timer for the half speed restarts, as opposed to the effect stacking.
I think you're mistaken, the power up doesn't stack it waits until the old power up is gone before a new one appears. You just may have not even noticed it happened because you slowed the ball down by hitting it closer to the middle coincidentally.

I know a while back I played a game very similar to this just it had a less smooth looking design and didn't have power ups. But it played the same with 4 paddles and all. But i like this one better because it looks nicer.
Ball kept slowing down and got boring
Nice execution, but the ball kept slowing down, so it got too easy/boring. The idea of powerups is a nice touch. The music also seemed to be way too loud compared to other flashes.
Some people have said its to hard, some said its to easy. Thats why I included different difficulties ;). Just try hard mode and it should be much more quick for you.

Good game, but if you just follow the ball with the cursor then it would never miss.. the cursor could be hidden, so you would need to aim with the paddle to not lose control.
And.. why the ball change tragetory when it slows down and goes fast again? I lost 3 lifes like this -.-'
I love arknoid and pong games and these power ups and lots of lifes made the game fun .D

wenever i got the slow ball power up the ball would glitch into the paddle or through! other than that it was fun
