Wonder if this was where that whole Splatoon thing got started... a smooth piece, with contrast and momentum, and Mario giving out a pretty fierce gaze. Looks good.

Ah, Sunshine! That's a blast from the past!
I like this a lot- the dynamic pose and the "clash" of the characters works very well, especially with their respective liquids leading the eye.
About the only thing I could suggest is adding an actual background- Sunshine had such nice (yet blocky) scenery and I think it would really add to the image.
