Sometimes, when I step into the cinema alone, or with my friends and family, one of the things that I anticipate and love to watch was the few trailers that precedes the giant KFC commercial showing off its finger licking goodness.

It didn't matter what genre of movie I was watching: Horror, fantasy, action, the trailers were just jumbled up and piled in to fill the time. And sometiems, it was a trailer for a children's movie. And not just any children's movie, but a movie made by Pixar. And each Pixar trailer is just as fun as the last one. So what makes Pixar trailers so distinct other than the jumping lamp and the quick flash of the Disney logo? The music, narrative and story.

Let's talk about the sound and narrative. We know that in the cinema, the sound we hear is set to "Hall", which creates a distinct echo after each sound. One thing I remember about the narration in Pixar trailers is that the narrator always talks in a corny way and had that "echo" and deep kind of voice. The narrative was done pretty well. It really did match the quality of what we are so used to hearing in Cinema trailers.

Then comes the music. What Pixar movie doesn't come with a memorable soundtrack? One thing most of us would remember about Pixar is that each trailer would come with some funky tunes, followed by dramatic music, then back to the funky tunes again as the narrator reads the title with his corny voice. Watching this trailer with the logos popping up and the funky tunes filling in and the protagonist in a sad mood brings much deja vu, and that's a good thing. The choice of music in the middle however, could have been better; it just didn't fit too well into the scene, although it did give off that action adventure effect.

The effects in which makes it a Pixar parody was overall good, save for some minor gripes I had with the voice acting and storyline in some parts. For example, Mr X probably had one line that was too cheesy even for a Pixar film. He mentioned about his dead wife a little too obvious and overdramatic, and didn't sound too convincing. But I think it would have been funner if that scene is followed by a revelation that the wife is in fact alive but divorced and with another consonant, but that's just me. Everything else was fine though. "y" had the perfect voice acting that sounds familiarly generic and funny at the same time; quite a staple in most children's 3D films.

Now with the sound and music done and over with, comes the entire life of the trailer. Form my perspective, the storyline is about a consonant who wishes to be a vowel. His mother has passed away, his father lives in regret, and his best friends " t" and "r" make a combination that turns him into a vowel. Then they go off to a random adventure, meeting the King of vowels, being chased by consonant mobs, fighting with exclamations on a train and suddenly being surrounded by foreign Chinese alphabets. That Chinese alphabet scene was probably the funniest moment in the trailer, and remarkably unexpected, yet it was something that Pixar would have done. And then "y" says probably the catchiest line in Flash history.

As a comedic parody of Pixar, this has to be the most original flash trailer I had ever seen on Newgrounds. I find it amazing how you and your friends managed to make this flash just in one evening, and already brimming with originality and creativity as well as nicely executed animations. From the green flashing message screen that nobody reads to the Disneyfied Newgrounds logo to the absolute randomness of the plot and the catchy phrase at the end, this is one helluva ride.

In the end, this flash tries to be, and succeeds, as a fun parody of Pixar trailers. Sadly, this doesn't look like the Author's going to make it into an actual flash movie. However, if Disney of Pixar were to look at this parody, I don't think they would pass up on a story idea as strange as this. Who knows, maybe somewhere in the future, someone at Pixar would actually decide to make a movie just based on this flash!

Sounds probable? You can Alpha BET on it!

The-Super-Flash-Bros responds:

wow, thanks

honestly its a parody of both Pixar trailers and action movie trailers, the other music I used was from Spider-Man
