pretty good. God choice and timing with the music. Animation was great except sometimes the animation looked like shit. Over all pretty good!
Flops due to inconsistency
Volume issues aside, I found this Madness tribute lacking in several areas. But first, here's what you did well:
Quality selection screen - Very creative, loved the style and would love to see the idea picked up by others
Music - In and of itself not a bad choice, like how certain parts matched perfectly with moments in the video
I would say animation was really well done too, but it was only really well done in certain parts. Around the beginning, your take on the rift opening in the sky, the glare reflecting off the glasses, and the distant shot of the building with the stock henchmen popping up in a Charlie's Angels-esque fashion were great. On the flip side, there were downright terrible moments such as when Hank is essentially waddling towards the building as though he has two prosthetic legs and a stick up his ***. One slip like that might have been okay, but your action scenes fell flat such as the bullets flying towards Hank or the various methods in which he kills people. And finally, the break with Madness character body conventions just seemed poorly drawn, especially in comparison with the high-quality segments I mentioned.
And so, because of the inconsistency of quality, I'm giving this 2/5 and 4/10. Rethink your character designs a bit, improve the fight sequences, and keep the same quality throughout and I'm sure Part 2 will be amazing.
PS - What really killed it was the running animation I mentioned when he's going to confront Jesus. For me, it killed Hank's credibility as a bad-***. And once the main character loses credibility, everything else just loses its luster.
