Reviews for "W & B : Deadly Strategies"

Good concept

But shitty game.

The AI system is the biggest flaw, what the hell is this? When I play an RTS I want to CONTROLL my units, I don't want to sit here and watch as an enemy kills my HQ, while my stupid ass AI units (With 100% attack enemy units and 0% EVERYTHING ELSE) sits there and stares at nothing while he kills my base.

Slow

the game is too slow. It takes ages for troops to do anything much less make it across the board. It is unclear which AI options are checked, such as preset of attacking. Biggest issue is the slowness though. Also, for being sprite based, I'm sort of surprised that it needs to change the quality around as it is playing.

Speeding it up and providing more clear AI controls would make it much better. Also, an afterthought, it would be nice if for the unbuildable units it would display what technology or buildings would make it buildable.

I'm sorry, I didn't even beat the first level because it was unbearably slow.

It's not hard.

I beat the first couple of levels with ease, and all I did was build as many support buildings, ($40 each 10 seconds) With the money earnt I built another. So 40x3 = $120 every 10 seconds. I built a barracks pretty quickly and had a massive army (like 50 units) and obliterated them. There's no other skill involved, sorry to say. And I was expecting to be able to control the units not have preset configurations, which were quite useless anyway, as when on defense they stumbled into the enemy base anyway.
It was a good game for the first couple of levels but got bored pretty fast. I give it a 6.

F***! F***! F**************************!

GAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! That pretty much sums it all up, right there. I couldn't even get past the first level. This is what I hate about RTS games in general: You can only build ONE F***ING UNIT AT A TIME!!! And so there's never enough manpower. But there are many other exclusive problems with this game. For example, the AI, to put it plainly, suxxorz. You put them on defend, and guess what they do most of the time? They go to the back line, like cowardly little girly men. Now, common sense dictates that they would go to the front lines and start giving the enemy a nice, cleansing shower of bullets. And you can't even so much as give them a specific building to target, so if you put them on Raze Mode, instead of focusing on one turret, then moving on to the next, they just go do their own thing. I once had a jeep in Raze Mode go RIGHT PAST a turret! THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS!!! He got slaughtered, thanks to that! And the enemy's soldiers weren't doing so good, either: They were approaching my turrets, and they kept turning around, and then back towards my turrets. The units sometimes seemed to be completely oblivious to the enemy forces around them, no matter what mode they were in. Hey, moron, the enemy forces are over there! Go over and start attacking! >:( The graphics were good. The storyline is fine. The gameplay is little to none. Please, PLEASE improve the AI! This could've been great!

Great storyline, concept... didnt work out, though

Ok first off, the AI shouldnt have that apparently random element. When I tell everyone 'attack the enemy base' I want them to gather up into a cohesive mass with short range troops at the front, long range at the back, and then for them to march off together. Instead, they sort of wandered back and forth, individually deciding on a whim to attack where they were slaughtered by my opponent.

Not remotely enough control over troops.

I love the storyline and the anime-style art, though. I can see how much effort went into it, and it gave the game a strong degree of style. For that, I'll give you a seven.
