Reviews for "The Piper's Waltz"

very nice

I assume the stop-motion parts was the box itself?
It looked 3-dimensional and I figured it wasnt also done with adobe aftereffects like the little puppets poking out were.

This is a neat little concept. There's all sorts of other things you could do in this same vein.

Not bad.

Cool but you should have added the townsfolk aswell

OMG

this is possibly the best-animated flash i've EVER seen!

Unique

I liked this piece because it was very different. I like artists that think outside the box. I gave it a vote of 5 on the main score on the strength of that, plus the fact that it was quite well done. I have no doubt your work will continue to improve, so I'm not going to offer any 'criticism'. Most artists are their own most severe critics, anyway. I will say, though, that I'm uncomfortable with the commercial nature of your easter egg, and author's comments post. It was very well done, but I would hate to see that sort of practice become commonplace on Newgrounds.

RAWRoutLOWD responds:

Thanks for your nice comment. I'm sorry if the easter egg was too "commercial." However, it is not as though I made the animation to promote my clothing, I made the animation for the sake of animation. And though the easter egg is very blatantly a promotion of my business, I thought it offered a piece of animation that was appealing and enjoyable for the audience regardless of what it was for.

Thanks!

I really enjoyed the flash... my only question is that why do you have the puppet play the flute when there is no flute part in the piece?

RAWRoutLOWD responds:

I just thought the music fit well with my piece, I wasn't actually trying to make an exact replica of the story using the music. I hope that makes sense. I'm glad you enjoyed it though, thanks!
