Morbid yet unsatisfying
It's unique and interesting up til the end. This bizarre world where it's a jolly good show to stick a brick with an electrical plug into a dog's head in order to interpret your moaning and groaning into intelligible sentences sounds like a good idea in theory. However, after chopping off that dog's head and using it's body as your own has promptly lead me away from any further animations you might have created.
Your style is on it's own level. The animation was decent, but the plot really killed it. Sure, this is newgrounds, anything is possible. But a vast majority of people who might actually watch this thing to the end, are promptly left wanting their time back. If you had alternate endings or at least some other ideas on what to do with Dog of Man, perhaps you should of gone with them.
You did a few things right however. The sound wasn't too bad, the background music or at least whatever it was, wasn't offensive. And you genuinely tried to get away from the clones of flash videos with shiny objects, bright colors and annoying characters with dubbed voices of a 13 year old kid's best "Hard Ass" impression, or soundclips taken from Full Metal Jacket.
The uniqueness of Dog of Man has it's perks. (Hell, I watched it to the end, didn't I?) The saturation of the colors and the offensively ugly main character kept me watching to see what would happen next, if only the ending didn't ruin it.
