Reviews for "Andagel"

this game was ok

the engine is incredable but the storyline is retarded and those red predator just wont stand still!!!!

Those chemicops are pretty spastic. They run on a basic A.I. that 'dodges' when you hit them, but i think i need to spread out their dodges. If they leap away each and everytime you hit them, as well as on their own cycle (which they do) then its a LOT of motion. You as the player probably move a lot less than they do. Ill look into calming down their reactrion cycle next time.

Incredible for a flash

Only problem with it is by bridgin the gap between flash and what would pass as a good playstaion orginal game you have raised the expectations. We are used to games that use crap graphics etc but are made fun, this is a great game with pritty good 3Dness. however it seems more like a poor ps game rather than an amazing flash game!

popopt responds:

I like the way you put it. I think the game is definitely at a boundary between the 2 and xpectations are high. Ive been thinking heavily lately about abandoning flash and going with a more powerful 3d app. Even the weakest 3d engine out there outperforms flash by a huge degree. Here i am very limited by the number of objects i can use etc because of the limitations of the flash player. BUT no other technology i know of is as flexible as flash, has such a braod reach and work so well. For now i think i am staying with flash, will soak up all the feedback i get, and continue to improve my ability to get more out of flash in a way thats as polished as possible:) its all kind of swirling around in my mind;)

Ambitious!

This game was very ambitious and unique, but I think you were shooting for far more than a simple flash game is capable of. If you plan on continuing this series, I would greatly recommend trying to find a more fitting medium.

The world and story seemed very interesting, and I would love to see more of it, though hopefully with something more polished than this.

All in all, it was a fun and unique experience, but every moment of it was filled with the feeling that it was trying to be something more than it was.

Ive been enviously looking at Unity3D (mac only, im pc) and also at the Torque engine from garage games. I just dont want people to have to install anything and i had a bad experoience with the Unity3D plugin for pc, although i hink the tech looks incredible. These games are really just a kind of way of getting the world in my head out in public so switching to technology or reaching less with current technology are 2 ways to tell better stories - anyways, im heading to Chapters bookstore tonight and am looking for books about efficient game production (design docs, etc). I want to stay with Flash but its clear that if i want to mask its limitations or demonstrate innovative techniques without sacrificing usability and the ability to tell a story then im going to have to get really organized in order to increase the quality overall without nurmimg myself out:)

wow

I click start over and over and over again and all I get is this lovely beeping noise.

I wouldn't work! :C

Every time I tried to play it, it froze at the instructions and and iy just kept flashing. Please tell me why this is happening, I really want to play this game.
