Reviews for "Where ISN'T my mind?"

Hmm not that bad.

Comments before actual review - I was hoping this was a parody of What's not in my mind, the other flash that you had the RRC review for you, but comes to figure out I read the title wrong. That might be a good idea some day though to think of something like that and parody your own flash. :D

Animation/Graphics - Let's go with the bad first so you forget the bad when I mention the good. ;) It was way too simple. I don't animate myself, but when I watch a flash I do want to see more then a couple of lines and dots moving. Now on to the good. The animation that you did have, while still very simple was very smooth and clean.

Story - Completely random, but it did have some content. Let's go with the bad again. It was very short and the content of the flash itself was just... let's say boring. Now you did have some text that added to the flash itself and I do like when flash animation are well timed with the audio, but I will cover that in the audio part of my review.

Audio - I like the song and I like submissions that are well synced with the audio. This was a perfect example of one of those submissions and you did a very good job at timing everything. The quality and everything was also very clear.

Overall - You did a good time timing the animation with your audio, but it just seemed to be short and empty. It really needed more content, even though I did notice that you said you didn't have enough time. :(

Soooo short :(

I admit, I like the song a lot, and I thought the cover is great, but I wish it was just 30seconds to a minute longer!

It was just about to get to the chorus, and it just stopped! which is such a shame :(.

The animation part was quite good, as I liked how the lyrics moved on screen, but that little moving dot thing in the center did get a bit repetitive.

So in summary, if it was a fraction longer this flash would have got a larger score from me, but you still did a fairly good job, so well done ;)/

Everybody tells me that I should have done it longer.
Even I said it to myself, but I just didn't have the time to do it. :(

Silly dot, getting repetative like that.

Thanks for the review anyway.
:D

Good job, but too short.

This animation packs a lot of potential, and the idea is really good!
But I am sad now:( You didn't make it long enough.. I would like to see the whole song animated by you:) The whole flash was clean, and neat. I hope you extend this:)

Lochie responds:

You are right, it is too short, thanks for the great compliment though. :D

Cool idea, but not visually entrancing.

It's kinda like 'Play' and 'Flathead Symphony', but using totally abstract things.

Although it's a cool idea, I felt your squares and the fbf ball just weren't as visually interesting as the characters in Dustball's pieces. Even if you want to abstract it, maybe have different things for different pitches and have stuff change a bit more rather than just fading in/out - maybe enlargements...

Also, I was really disappointed with the curtailed ending - when I was just getting into the music.

And why no replay button?

I like the experiment, the bg and the 'clean' style of the black and white with grey. Maybe ditch the fbf and embrace the geometric 'cleanness'?

Lochie responds:

I thought I already responded to this. :P

Okay, well I wasn't trying to compare myself to dustball or dan paladin when animating this. :P

I agree that I should've had more variety in this, it would have made it better.

I didn't think of a replay button, sorry about that. ):

I couldn't think of any other way to make the ball look like it would swing unless it was fbf. :P

Thanks for the review.

Honestly.

This is a hidden gem of newgrounds, its so simple yet so fascinating.

Lochie responds:

Facination is a great thing.
