Reviews for "Chrono Trigger: Ep I"

Good!

I liked it a lot, I think you did a really good job capturing the Chrono Trigger feel. Makes me all nostalgic for the game now.

The way you incorporated game elements into the movie like those photos that show the events at the fair was really creative and also the way Chrono never talks haha. Your attention to detail was really nice too, the racers, Gato, and that weird mask thing were nice touches.

bizzarrostrife responds:

Thank you so much, I'm glad to know that tedious hours of drawing with a mouse is appriciated. The detail will never lessen!

Well...

I love CT, and I'll definitely keep checking the series out if I can. You may get some problems with putting squaresoft on the menu etc (making it appear as if they made it or something). But I'm not a legal expert or anything, so maybe it's really not important to worry about.

Keep up the good work, and as a side note, I kind of agree with you on the voices... everyone has different ideas of what characters should sound like.

bizzarrostrife responds:

That's a really,really good point... maybe I'll put a disclaimer.

Off to a decent start of a possible good series.

Well, where to start really...

You followed the script alright and that opening scene always brings back good memories of playing the game for the very first time. But I did notice a few things, first of all, the soundtrack doesn't sound quite like it should. Like it didn't sound like it was from the video game. Also I hope you improve on the character designs and animation, for starters Marle's hair is a bit more goldish and orange-ish then the way you did it. Lucca looked crossed eyed to me. Also I'm hoping you'll fix that uploading issue you have, a custom icon would really help in setting this one apart from the other Chrono Trigger flashes on here.

Overall, I think this series has potential and you're not off to a horrid start by any means. Long as you continue to practice and improve those character designs, this series could turn out to be a hit.

I'm looking forward to episode 2.

bizzarrostrife responds:

Yea I'm working on that icon issue... Also I got much better at animating during the coarse of animating this so I promise episode 2 will flow better. Also, the soundtrack is from the Chrono symphonic. I felt like since the art and other aspects where different, the music should be too. I totally agree on the character design now that you say that. I was trying to base them more off the spirtes than off of the Akira Toriama(ew) art. Thanks so much for watching!

Nice

No sound, and the animation was choppy but, You have a very good idea. Keep running with it

bizzarrostrife responds:

Hmm, there's sound... If you're referring to the fact that there are no voices, I already explained it... Thanks for watching!

not bad!

it wasn't bad, just not what I expected. I will def be looking for more of the series though. Maybe next time make it a little longer? still though, not bad at all

bizzarrostrife responds:

The next one goes up to the first boss, so there's more action, it's longer, and the animation is better.
