Reviews for "Dream 404"

pretty cool

liked how u were able to make it look like u were drawing on the wall. wait, were u?!?! neway didnt rly understand the flash or if there was even anything to understand but it was still pretty cool and creative.

Coddingtown-Reject responds:

Yeah, not much to understand, just a ride to quote one of my friends. Thanks for the review.

Very Clever!

I don't have much to say about this except it's very original. You don't see many Flashes like this on Newgrounds.

The stop-motion was nice; I like how the image gradually "formed" as it was being drawn bit by bit.
Considering that the actual drawing was done in real life as opposed to just doing it in Flash; this is especially impressive. Well done!

Coddingtown-Reject responds:

Well I've seen a few, but the ones I've seen were basically using a fixed position, and not much motion besides the creation of the piece. Thanks for the review.

. . .

I'll be honest, I have no idea what I just watched. I know how you did it, and the art was pretty good, but what's all this supposed to mean? Is there a lesson, moral, point, or story? I really just don't see anything.

This appears to be more of an art piece than what I am used to seeing here, but art has meaning. As such, I'm missing the point. As a media studies/art student, I think that I'm one of the most likely people to catch something if it were there. I can conclude that either there is no message , or the message is so unclear that no one could possibly decipher it. Certainly not within the abilities of the average NGer.

I am forced to grade solely on art, and music selection. The drawings were okay, and were hindered by the difficulty of drawing on multiple surfaces(ceiling, wow) so props to you. The music matched the drawing style and set an upbeat mood, but may or may not have helped convey the story/message, I can't be certain.

Improvement can be made in the fluidity of apparent camera motion, and with more even lighting. Clarification of intent would help as well, perhaps write something in the author comments?

Coddingtown-Reject responds:

Yeah, well you got it, there wasn't a message unfortunately. In many of the videos I do nowadays (I don't upload a lot on newgrounds) many without dialogue are just about expression and what I'm feeling at the time of the project. I appreciate something more than "It was ok" or "It was bad" and when doing this I didn't have a real message in mind, it was basically just an exciting project for me. Yeah, and about the walls, I thought for sure they were completely flat and not made out of wood like that. About the lighting I didn't really have that much to work with since it was a small house and basically all it is is a small 4-room shack not much bigger than the walls shown, but I'll keep that in mind for the next one. Thanks again for the comment, and I hope this response helped a bit.

huh its sweaty

OH my god great movie this should be going on frount page i love it just like i loved your mom and your dad loved you hard.

Coddingtown-Reject responds:

Haha, they love me but they don't know about this (yet). Thanks for the review dude.

That was awesome

I bet it got annoying after a while having to stop drawing and take pictures. Anyway 5/5 10/10 and I hope to see more eventually.

Coddingtown-Reject responds:

Well my shoulder got tired, but not really annoying. Thanks for the review.
