Reviews for "Shadez: Black Operations"

Sweet!

This was really something new, a great game, very smart.

This is Great Game

Booyah! I seriously loved it, though kinda repetitive after a while but i tried to challenge myself by trying to only use infantry or only transport or others to win, and i managed to do it for all except for transporting infantry, coz they took forever to unload all the soldiers and they get killed easily by the AA vehicles.

To NoTactics: U Call This Boring... This is a great game.. i know it might be repetitive but u can try challenging urself like me.. Jeez.. Use ur common sense.. if u even have one..

I like my enemies crushed...

I recall seeing a couple similar Defense games in terms of schematics, but none of them gave me as much fun as Shadez: Black Operations. However, even though my "Fun Factor" reached criticaly high melt-down levels, there were downsides which poked my eyes out.

The Good things about Shadez are countless. Good Graphics, nothing against the sounds, its (almost) balanced and most importantly, it's fun!

But due to limited time and finger power I will skip to the things that I consider "Bad" or "Could be improved".

First thing, the Artillery. As many previous reviewers noted the Artillery Strike is a) efficient b) cheap and c) pwning. Most of the time I won wave, after wave, after wave due to the enemy getting bombed at the start, and by the time the tanks got anywhere near the fight only the men returned. Unlike all the other "Strikes" the Artillery Bombardment Reloads too quickly, or it lasts much too long. When I played on Easy, Intermediate and Hard maps every single time the Artillery strike solved all the equations. It should either last a bit shorter, be more expensive, or load much much longer. Otherwise it makes life much too simple.

Second, Chinooks. Not that I did not use them, they were a safe alternative to sending out tanks and men from the other end of the map, but sometimes I got lost with deploying them. It's a pity you cannot quick-select a number of similar vehicle types at the same time. That would made Chinook deployment much simpler. Or, if the Chinooks acted as "Strikes" and you could choose beforehand where you want the troops or tanks deployed. The price is reasonable, and you know it will be impossible to deploy anything untill you have air superiority.

Third, the Enemy. At the end of each wave I ended up with large numbers of useless enemy infantry. My tanks "Nomed" them away together with my choppers. That could be changed in one simple way. Give the Infantry Anti-Tank and Anti-Air weapons. They could be one use only after which they would grab their rifles, but because they are helpless against tanks they just make the wave a bit longer, and give some extra cash. You could also add Tanks for the enemy. Bomb Trucks are fine, but Tanks would shift the balance slightly in favor of the enemy. Otherwise it is still too simple. One more thing, change the process of the waves. If the heavy hardware always comes first, it gets the first hit... or at least I was that efficient in destroying it.

Something I could add? A Campaign maybe, or random generated terrain. I nice thing to see would be terain obstructions like lakes, over which you have to call a "Build Bridge" strike, which then can be destroyed after construction. Maybe building, like bunkers, that can be occupied by enemy troops, with a "Bunker Buster" Strike to handle them.

Other than that, really good. A 9 from me due to the game not being perfect. But still, it is more than enjoyable.

Awesome

Hands down this is a great game.
