Bordering on funny.
It's probably easier to comment on all the episodes here. I've watched them all and have been meaning to review them. Seeing as this is the final episode in the series and they're literally all over the portal page, there's no better time than now.
The animation right the way through is very good. It's clean, tidy and consistent. I like the style and I like the character design. They all stand out from each other and the acting is good too.
The voice acting is good but the voices themselves are poor. Some of them are too similar and they all sound like Saturday morning Children's TV rejects. If it weren't for the adult gags I'd swear I was watching CBeebies. It even has the same visual style. There's nothing wrong with that of course but because I think it lacks in the humour department it means it drags along just like if I was watching a children's cartoon.
It's a real shame as there's a really nice atmosphere about these animations. I don't know what to suggest other than try and find some people to write the jokes so you can devote yourself fully to the cool animation. There are some funny moments throughout the series but over the whole set there's enough to fill just one episode not ten. The rest of the time it's just drawn out dialogue, annoying voices and poorly executed gags that so obviously set themselves up that they become annoyingly predictable.
In this final episode I didn't laugh once. Not one single time. For a comedy animation that's pretty poor. I like to think I've got a very broad and varied sense of humour too but something is just wrong with all these episodes being so highly rated. I can only assume it's because of the visuals and sound.
I hope we see more Edible Castle episodes in the future but next time get help with the comedy.
It might seem like I'm just ripping into the episodes but it's only because I think there's so much potential there with the characters, the setting and the animation style.
