Reviews for "Racstraw"

really chilled

love how the beat just keeps it a bit funky. i agree with the people below about the rain volume though. after a while i just wanted to hear your drums and melodies.

where do you get your ambient sounds????

i have to say i loved the track though.

anyways.. check out my pride and joy.

LET IT RAIN!!!

Triskele responds:

Got all my ambient stuff from a ACID Music loop sampler. Check out www.acidplanet.com and pick up some 8packs :D

Awesome!

This is really neat, it's hard to find words to describe it. It has so many elements from so many different genres in it, it's a really refreshing piece (or perhaps that is just the water)!

All tens, I loved this one

This one was really awesome, it was very original and was easy to understand, which rises the clarity score. Also, you used a lot of instruments which made it diverse, and this must've taken you a while, since it's so long, which rises the effort level as well.

I hope this review was helpful!

haha woah,

Not at all what i expected mate, i expected it to be a celtic heavy track with some scritchy scratchy drums, this is cool man. Possibly too much bass in places, tho it could just be my headphones. I think the kick needs some limiting and or compression on it, tho i'll have to play this through my speakers again later to be sure (its 6 am and my parents are asleep in the next room)

I see what that guy means about the drums goin out, if intended its interesting, tho not pleasant, is that some vocoding/synthesised sounding speech i hear in there too? That sounds cool whatever it is, its very chirpy yet also atmospheric and kinda sinister, exciting sounding. Cool stuff man, i think the track could've been longer, n maybe fitted in one more style of writing or two in the track.

Triskele responds:

Thanks. This one does desperately need a remaster. It turns out the bass on my speakers has been way down for some time, so they may be far too loud. Still, this remains probably my favorite techno piece I've done so far.

Cheers.

Ambient techno?

Oops, got that wrong. Ambient ORCHAESTRAL techno.
Man, I hate sub-genres...

I like the beginning. Even though i think that the nice rain sounds you have going in the beginning start loud, they quiet down a lot through the track.
I think it might be good to let them fade out after a while? I think it may cause unnessecary noise in the song.

Then you can focus on adding more instruments and making it sound more pro-like! :)

I'm liking this nifty drum work i'm hearing, did you program that? Cause if you did, I might be forced to go on my drumset and learn it right now! Awesome riff! Adds a very funky feel to the overall song.

Good song, but the few points i have is, either let the rain fade out, turn down the rain volume, or just plain turn the rest of the song up (the drums and melody and whatnot).

Good work!
(I would ask you to check out my music, but you already reviewed me! 8D Thanks!)

Triskele responds:

Sadly, I did not program the drums. I prefer to use live drum tracks whenever possible, so I'm forced to look for loops. It's a living hell, cuz I usually know what I want almost exactly once I get the melody parts figured out. Fortunately, I found two loops that combined to form just what I was looking for. I really should learn set, though :P

I know the rain's loud, but I meant it to be almost an instrument in itself, not just an ambience. I really wanted to keep it in the foreground, and I like how it turned out.

Thanks!
