Reviews for "Star Serpent Sigma"

a good balance of easy and hard

i havnt played the first one so i cant compare this game to it. that said, it is a solid game in the style of truxton(if truxton was sidescrolling) and gradius. the only reason im taking a point away is because of the ship select menu, as u have no idea what each weapon does until u use it. but other than that it is an amazimg game with classic arcade style graphics and challenging bosses. i definatley recommend this game

wait what?

Why were the last two reviews 0 and 2. I thought it was pretty cool.

Shooting things was always awesome...It releases the stress.

I thought it needed a story though, which is what I always say because I want to fully understand a concept so pay no mind to it...

What...the...hell?

Awesome, until I beat the second boss, close to game over, and I did beat the second boss, and he put me f***ing game over in the clear zone table-thingy...what the hell, man?!? also requires a replay button, and level passwords

i know this

u got this idea from a gameboy advance game called "phalanx"
the upgrades gameplay bombs 3 lives even the boss!
annyway good game

Pretty good

I agree that there should definately be an example of what each of the weapons does, on the customization chart. A small icon, or a constant display of the ship on one side firing/using whats been selected.
Its also kinda annoying that just slipping up once at the boss dooms you to a long and painful fight without the powerups. Maybe if now and then, missiles would show up that could be shot down to get a weapon powerup, or a powerup just rare randomly moving onto the screen.

b-som1, you're showing your ignorance.
There have been games with all of the things you mentioned long before phalanx. The whole entire genre is filled with examples, to the point that it more or less IS the genre. Its almost expected to include an upgrade system and bombs, just like if a modern high class developer did a FPS where there were no shadows, it'd be spectacularly binned.
