Reviews for "Purgatory Pizza Teaser"

Interesting.

Interesting idea, and the art itself isn't inherently bad. My big gripe would be the actual quality of the art...it looks like you hand-drew this stuff and then 'trace-bitmapped' it. you can see that it is vector, but with VERY jaggy edges. None of the art is entirely complicated, so there's no reason it couldn't just be drawn straight in flash. It'd look a lot cleaner. I do like the concept though, so just refine it a bit and you could have a great series on your hands!

Sound-O-Vision responds:

Thanks for the feedback! I'm fond of Illustrator's Live Trace function, but good call, we did use Trace Bitmap for a few of the shots. We wanted to keep the hand-drawn feeling, but perhaps it could use some polishing. Of course, you'd see that in the Pilot, we did this trailer in just two days.

Thanks again for the intelligent review!

hmmm ok

that was weird good job on the sort show

Intriguing.

Like most trailers, this wasn't really entertaining in and of itself but the series seems promising.

The Times New Roman (?) fitted in well and I liked the 'twisted' word. Also, the ending with folk taking the pizza was awesome.

The first reveal of the characters had shock value, but I felt like they looked a bit hastily drawn - like maybe they could have had their lines refined or maybe some shading put in.

Well, in the end it's gonna be the script that makes or breaks this.

Sound-O-Vision responds:

Thanks for the feedback!

We've been refining the lines as per user reviews like yours.

The font was Trajan Pro, and the twisting 'Twisted' was my favorite part :)

Glad you liked the live action pizza. We're planning on using those as scene transitions.

Stay tuned ;)

Ehn?

The teaser is promising for an actual show.... it seems people were more amused to see an animation of someone humping a girl with a boba fett mask than anything of actual quality. I'm disappointed.

Sound-O-Vision responds:

There is an actual show, that's just a deliciously out-of-context clip.

Whatchu got against boba?!

uhm thats not a flash

i understand that you want to get noticed but this was not a flash so it doesnt deserve a good review sorry

but it does kinda look like squidbillies and aquateen so im looking forward to it

Sound-O-Vision responds:

You must be confused, this whole animation was in flash. The only thing that came from another program was the lens flare that was converted to flash video (it was only 60KB too!)
