But I don't see the point of subtracting 5000 points from your score to continue on the game over screen. Because when you die, they gtake all your points away.

I like the premise, but I found this maddening to play because I could either beat a level in one go or die fifteen times trying. It would be much easier if you could keep the stars you'd already gotten when you die and try again.

Cool, I like the idea!
my only thought would be to put a little bit of buildup on the ball direction - I like things to kinda amp up to flat-nacker rather than going full speed ahead no matter what. Obviously in this instance it'd have to be a really quick amp-ing, but I think it'd add another level.

This is the type of games I like :) It's simple but involving a great idea. I really enjoyed playing it, it was overall very well achieved. Great work!
