Ehh
No offense but I think it's not very good. I have a few reasons (more like suggestions)
1. Use the mouse as the ball instead of the arrow keys.
2. items came a little to often.
3. Make the death kinda like the mine, it takes chunks of it away at a time.
These are some suggestions I think are pretty cool if you could put them in if you made another game. But other than that, great ;)
Simple? Yeah.
Addictive? No.
I got sick of controlling random flying balls avoiding other balls a long time ago. These games are a dime a dozen. If I were rating originality this would be a -20/10. It didn't help that the music got on my nerves after about five seconds either.
Not too bad for your first time though.

Good concept but way too hard. Perhaps it could start off easier and increase the amount of red balls as the game progresses.

a bit too difficult.... but very cool dconcept -- I think some parameters just need tweakling and you got a winner. I like the simplicity of it esepcially. Ot workls/
