I found a bug: ships continue to drop bombs after blown up from where they would be if they hadn't been blown up.
Pretty interesting.
Not a bad start, you've got the shoot mechanics down and everything, now all you need is a variety of enemies, upgrades, time to buy stuff in between levels, and DEFINITELY a pause button. Great start. ;)
