Reviews for "Kamineko RPG"

Great game, but a few tweeks wouldn't hurt.

First off, great game. It deserves a much better score than what it currently has (3.51). I mean really, there is soooo much crap that gets put in this portal that passes with scores that high. This might not should be in the top 50 or anything, but it should have a score closer to 4.00.

Graphics: 8/10 Not bad. The battle seens look way better than the rest of the game though.

Sound: 10/10 The music player works fine.

Playability: 8/10 The game is good but could use a few tweeks. It's a little hard to navigate sometimes because you can't necessarily tell what a few things are. It would be really nice to be able to see the enemies' hit points in battle. Even if there is a way, I haven't found it because if you waste any time, you'll lose your turn in battle. Real-time battles are fine, but it needs to be just a little easier to make selections without losing a turn so easily.

Overall: 9/10 Great game. I'm really enjoying it and should get around to beating it in the next few days. I don't really spend a lot of time at once playing it. Again, the score should be much higher.

Thank you for great review.
The battle graphics were pretty much the last thing I did. They do really stand out on the early levels, however it gets better in later maps.
There is no way to see enemy's Hit Points. You can somewhat tell if there HP is low if they start defending, trying to run away, or healing.
I'll definitely try to improve the clarity of interface in the next update.

nice

I liked this game, but it took a while before you could even stand a chance against leader cats, and even longer before you could beat skeleton cats, really presented a nice challenge, but should add more gears, a sword is a sword, no cats can resist being sliced in half, so either up its attack, or put more weaps ahead of it so the attack difference is spread out. Also at about lvl 20, all the cats were relatively easy. Have a few questions though, where is the thing on graveyard pedistal, and how is the guardian chamber's door opened, if anyone has these answers PM me or sumtin.

4as responds:

Graveyard pedestal? You ectually mean the last level of graveyard's dungeon? It is suppose to answer how Kamineko gather such a large army of cats. You will most likely understand after the final battle.
Guardian chamber's door... the one that is "shut for ages" ? You need to visit the School first. After certain event you will find a key.

ehhhh

it was ok but got very bored VERY FAST nice try though

well done!

nice to see something posted that someone actually put effort into. looks like this could make for hours of mindless fun.

Very nice, but a lot of level-grinding required

This is a very nicely done RPG, bringing in all the basic formulae that a regular RPGer knows as well as a couple of new touches. The graphics were very well designed and created, the animation was executed nicely and the gameplay was simple, yet had a definite depth to it. And it all got even better when you got into a battle, the animation especially, with it's smoothness almost enchanting.

That said, there are a couple of nit-picky comments to make: the random battles are very tough right from the get-go, and it takes a short while to become strong enough to actually venture away from the house. Sure, you pretty much hit Lv2 after one battle, but you need to be about Lv4, or even Lv5 before you can really go anywhere, and going back indoors to heal after every battle isn't something I'd prefer to spend my time doing. There isn't much help in terms of where to go either, so when you CAN finally leave the safety of your home, you have to wander around almost aimlessly until something happens.

Still, apart from those little problems, this was a very well produced piece of work, a mostly enjoyable RPG experience and I look forward to seeing more. 4/5

Thanks for a nice and constructive comment.
You pretty much nailed everything I always wanted to change.
But after 3 years of development I come to a point where I wanted just to release it.
I'll try to fix those things someday, however... it wont be that soon ._.
