Nor bad for a quickie, but:
You could try adding more frames between Keyframes to make it smoother, and you could try to smoothen out the characters. Those seemed a bit rushed.

It's nothing great...
But it's really cool that you made this for your friend's sister. I'm sure even at this level she'll like and appreciate it a lot. I know anyone would.
As for what to add...well I really don't know how good you are at flash and/or drawing, so I can't say too much here. However, if you added some audio saying "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" or something, I think it would add to it.
