The background is very cool in my opinion the lifebars were smooth
a bit concerned about the novice attack animations being a bolt of lightning I mean hes a novice and he can shoot lightning out of his hands ?wtf
Overall 7/10 cant wait to see the finished product
this is bad
the concept is old, but you proved to be just how badly a game of this nature can be done. I went to the dojo (only option) and trained against the novice, who beat me 5 times in a row. I never even saw him attack, just bolts of lightning that ripped my HP off far faster then i could hurt him. This game makes the player hate it only 2 mins in. Im glad this is a beta, you have a lot of work to do here.

Couldn't get into it
The game doesn't have any kind of background info or direction. I wasn't sure what I was even supposed to be doing to start off the game. I went to the town(only option), figured out all could do was to spar the novice, and promptly got destroyed by them. Even when I went back and spent the 10 gold you have to start with on the knives, I still lost again.
