It's impossible to beat - You can't afford the best ship wihile other "pirates" can - so you are screwed. Done.

That was fun. Not too complex perhaps, but fun. The downside I could find is that you have to buy a new boat when the opponents do, there's just no way you can beat the better ships and save money one more turn. When you do try, it results in having to start over. But since it's not a long game, I don't mind that, I enjoyed playing this. Good work.
Controls?
These controls sucked horribly. It seemed like it could have been a fun thing but the controls really make this game annoying more than anything. Try again mate.
Don't know why it was on the front page
This game is just to put together to poorly to be on the front page.
First and most annoying is the fact that when you row forward your also apparently strafe to the left?
And then every once in a while they enemy ships will be going forward while only rowing on one side.
Some way of determining which side to shoot from would be useful because the ai has the IQ of a retard.
I'm sure if its a bug, just that its really annoying, there is no consistency in the turning. Seems to be completely random how much you turn when you row a side.
There is no point to continuing if you lost since it doesn't just take your score, but also your gold; effectively eliminating any chance of making it farther in the game.
And what was the point of the rest button? Yay, I can change the distance and the amount of gold, what a useless feature.
All in all it seemed like basic game made pretty, but little effort was put into the important part, the 'game' play.
