Reviews for "Frankenstein Trailer"

Why want my mind out of the gutter?!

A great little flash, complete with all the wrong jokes that I never thought would occur in such a flash. You really need to get a female to voice over the part of Elizabeth, as your falsetto isn't the best in the world :P

Good animation and the use of Herman Munster (Or was it the classic Frankenstein's Monster from the original movie?) was well placed. Personally, I'd have gone for something more animated that the dying genre of animutation, as I'm sure that your drawing talents could ahve extended to something as wooden as Frankie's Monster.

Rammer responds:

haha, thanks! that isn't my voice for Elizabeth, though - it's my friend, Tate's. :P Lisa didn't want to voice-act for Elizabeth. i think it's funny in itself that a guy is doing the voice, when the lines are professing love for a guy.

i just searched "frankenstein's monster" on google and found the best image :P i don't know where it was from.

as i said in previous responses, and in my author's comments, that last scene with the animutation was made at 1 in the morning on the day it was due. i couldn't have done anything better, really, considering the time.

thanks for the review.

Really good.

I know that this was a Trailer for your English Class, but do you plan on making an actual movie or series out of it at all?

Animation/Graphics - Very simple most of the time. I could really tell that most of it was rushed like in parts where Frankenstein would turn around, but it was like he was a flat image instead of an actual person if you know what I mean. The backgrounds and drawings were all pretty decent, but again I could tell towards the end of the flash that you were in a hurry because the drawing and backgrounds were really lacking.

Story - A nice little flash, which was of pretty good length. I have to say that the letter was very very funny and that bits and parts of the actual animation made the flash pretty funny. If you were going for humor in this submission then you sure hit it on the nose.

Audio - The voice acting was very good don't get me wrong, but the quality of the sound wasn't always very good. Especially in the part were the voice was reading the letter out loud and there was some static. Not too bad though.

Overall a nice little animation that you made here.

Rammer responds:

no, i don't plan on making an actual movie based on Frankenstein. \:

regarding the monster being flat - yeah, that scene gave me all sorts of trouble. i couldn't decide which angle to animate it at, and then there was the issue of me putting forth effort to keep whatever suspension of disbelief you might have at this point. :P
the last scene, where Frankenstein runs away from the monster, was done at 1 am, on the day that the project was due. i was very, very rushed, lawl.

thanks for the compliment on the humor. my class seemed to think so, too (: oddly enough, i initially wanted this to be a serious endeavor. i knew the rest of my class would make things funny, so i wanted to try something different. i made the intro with that very intention, but as i started to do the animation, i realized how little time i had. serious animations generally require better art, because the focus is more on the atmosphere rather than than what is actually happening. so i changed direction and kept the intro to serve as a funny contrast to the rest of the trailer.

we were using my shitty webcam's mic when we were recording lines. it sounds better full-quality, what with the lack of pops and staticy bursts, but it would have made the file size a bit too big. i've had a lot of trouble uploading things online for a long time, and this 1 mb file was pushing it. \: i've started using my Rock Band mic for these things, now, which is a HUGE step above in quality. any future flashes with voice-acting in them will have much better voice quality. (:

thanks for the review!

lol

that was great.
i've seen 'mary shelley's frankenstein' and thought your interpretation of it was pretty good.
could have done the scene where frankenstein makes a bride who kills herself soon after but oh well..
i've actually already watched this movie when it was passing judgement.
kinda remembered when i was watching the second scene.
good job, did you ever make the movie?

Rammer responds:

heh, i don't think i ever actually finished the book properly :P that scene would have been funnier to parody than the monster killing Victor's wife scene.

this is for a school project, not a real trailer, lawl.

Funny and good!

This was really well done. Awesome graphics and smooth animation. Was also pretty funny. Good job on this. Did you get a good mark in your English III for this?

Rammer responds:

thanks! yeah, i got 13/12 points.

to be honest, i wouldn't have spent so much time on it if i knew it was worth 12 points :P

Unusual but good!

I liked Frankenstein, and I thought this made a pretty good parody of it. The letter was pretty funny, written like an IM and translated from what Elizabeth was saying.

The Quotes need to be on screen longer, especially the one before the second scene.

Also, I think the second scene could be a little more fleshed out, or made ridiculously gory for laughs.

The Frankenstein's monster faces near the end were pretty funny, as was the little disclaimer, good work.

Rammer responds:

yeah, the letter got a lot of laughs from my classmates. little do they know that i was also mocking them :P

the quotes went by fast there because that's where the music started getting fast-paced, which is what i needed for the next scene. i tried to keep them at a decent speed while also keeping the music synced, but clearly, i didn't do so well right there.

i was having a really, really hard time with the second scene. i tried at least 3 things before i was satisfied with what i was doing. it'd be a bit hard to show the goriness when they are silhouetted, but i wish i had thought of that when i made that scene.

thanks. (:
