Reviews for "The Thought That Counts"

Hmm! I liked it!

Actually, I thought this was pretty darned funny! Overall, the story was very cute, and though the scenes were pretty predictable, I thought this flash was very kind-hearted and silly.

A few gripes. The animation was a bit stiff at times, yet fluid at others.. but you're probably still working on finding what kind of style fits you best. The character animation was a bit choppy, and the art was a bit grimey-looking.. For instance, them driving in the car was mostly a fugly-looking tween and a moving background that looked sort-of like vomit. Nothing against you.. but You might want to match a tween with a tween instead of trying to mix frame by frame with a non-moving graphic.

Finally, the voices got a bit confusing because of the dense accent. At least, in the first scene, when our main man says "what did I do to deserve this?" I had no clue what he had said, and missed the the punchline the first time I watched. Her angry reaction pieced together what he had said, but you get my point. Make sure the Voices are really clear, especially with the punchline!

TonyTheScot responds:

Thanks, I'll keep that all in mind for future animations.

And I tried hard with the accent to make it less... well Scottish so people could understand it better. I failed lol...

And yeah, I know I slacked... I should have worked on it longer than I did so I had the time to do things.

Could be better visually

The basic concept was nice, good story, but the video itself was just not done quite well enough, the scenes where the characters would move could've been animated more. Other than that, was funny enough.
Entertaining, but not visually

TonyTheScot responds:

I completely agree with you. I promised myself from the start I'd avoid tweens and do a lot of frame by frame... however time constaints and other work loads forced me to slack like hell.

Won't happen in the future.

(Lesson... don't slack at the beginning of a course.)

hmmm

don't really like it not my kind of vid so maybe i am a little biased but animation was good and sound quality was nice just not very funny except for when he got beat up for confusing her anniversary for her b-day

TonyTheScot responds:

Everyone is intitled to their own view.

Thanks though (=
