Reviews for "Journeys of Reemus"

This game give me a headache.

Before I review this, I will admit right up front I'm not a lover of point-and-click games. Sorry...I find them limiting & frustrating, because my solutions often don't conform to the author's view of what could happen. So that either makes me a creative thinker, or just plain weird. Or both.

First...the musical score, while well written, adds something incredibly trippy & hypnotic to the game. It reminds me of an instrumental piece that Pink Floyd might have done if they had gone through a phase where they used steel guitars. I feel like I was slipped a roofie listening to this music. This alone may be the reason it's hard to figure out the puzzles.

Second...the puzzles themselves are...how can I put this? Extremely trippy and bizarre is probably the most polite way to describe them. I'm sorry...but it's not exactly an intuitive process to figure out how to use the room that artificially adjusts the seasons to make fruit ripen & burst so that giant tongues will lick them & somehow form a bridge. I never did figure out how to use the exploding pees from the pee pod cannon to allow Reemus to make a dive into a teacup full of nectar.

No...I'm not exaggerating. That's pretty much verbatim how the first couple of puzzles work. I thought that I was a pretty imaginitive guy, but this game is way, way far out there beyond my wildest dreams in terms of unusual settings & odd puzzles.

This game will mess with your head. Alot. It challenges how you view reality and requires you to be a very imaginitive & adaptive thinker to reason your way through the unreasonable.

Some people will doubtless love this game very much - and I can see how it will appeal to some. But to those whose gaming tastes trend more to zombies, chainsaws, accruing xp's, and logical/tactical thinking, I would give the Reemus games a wide berth.

On the plus side: Reemus has possibly the most epic mullet in the history of modern civilization.

Anyway...my game summary: Extremely trippy, extremly strange, and hypnotically addictive. I give it a 4 because it was, quite frankly, way too weird for me to wrap my brain around & really think my way through.

If you can't beat it, do a Google search...

...what the heck is wrong with people that vote 1 or 0 because they can't beat a game? That is just stupid. This is a great series of games, with a funny story, well-developed characters, and fluid animation. If you can't beat something do a search for a walkthrough and don't be a whinny little biyotch. Peace!
