Reviews for "Dynasty Lovers Dating Sim"

Improvement.

Your art style has improved some since your first game.

Fun!

But could use quite a bit of work. Don't get me wrong, I had a really fun time with with this sim, but there's a lot of room for improvement. Your strongest feature is the 'intimacy' you can get with your potential suitors-- learning their backstory, having actual conversations with them, figuring out appropriate gifts and such. I think the system you have for dates in this particular one is fun and kinda innovative-- like, they all have an 'eat' option, but it differs from date to date -- that's a really neat feature that made dates a lot more fun than the usual "answer questions and kiss the bloke" schpeal. I think the minigame-work-earn-money system was a great add-on, too, though it seems a little glitchy (sometimes, I'd have all five in the bowl, and I'd lose the pay; others, I'd only have two or three and it'd all work out o___o )
As for the little gripey things, I think the first I'd have to say is your battle system. It's fun gathering money and items to make armor, but the battles themselves aren't any fun. The graphics kinda look cheap, and Bikyee (to be brutally honest) just looks downright stupid with that weirdly-done hxc scowl and sort-of-stuck-on-the-sprite-sword. (on the other hand, I LOVED the other chibi+weapons. Raz could've stood to have his anatomy a little clearer, I sort of stared at him for a bit going "ok I'm confused how does this arm-thing-wing-WUT works", but the rest were positively snuggly ^^ ) I did like that you had to actually actively do something to train, but the process itself just seemed relatively underdone compared to the work you did with the dates and other interactions.
My biggest gripe, however, was the art. Your strongest point is definitely the great variety you create with your characters, they're very identifiable (which is something I'm seeing less and less in anime-styled characters these days, but the anatomy and general expressions sort of...irk me. The characters themselves are quite endearing, but the art sort of off-put me. Like, how you gave Lai Lai those " :3 " lips, Fei Rong the tongue-out, the very stiff hair-blowing, etc. on most of your characters sort of makes it look kinda sloppy, and (this is just a particular squick of mine) the lack of constructed anatomy bothered and distracted me quite a bit. My advice is to study real-life people and break their torsos and faces into shapes-- from what I understand about flash, I think that would make animation easier, but I've got a very limited knowledge about that. ^^; Still, I really do think you could use a little more structure to your art, you'll be able to more properly embody your hot characters. :P
One last little gripe-- grammatical errors! Mostly the "it's" vs. "its," but I do suggest you proofread your conversations. ^^

Still, I had a lot of fun with the whole thing. I think you should set an option to limit the days to make it a little harder (I feel it's not challenging enough), but I really enjoyed being able to max out my stats and see everyone.

and epic winrar for the sexy jokes. ;D

WTH!

cant play coz the screen of the is so big ..

A bit disappointing

I think I feel a steady decline in your newer games as they come out. I really enjoyed your first couple of games (love dating sim) and I really liked your style. But I feel your newer games aren't as sophisticated or up to the standard of your earlier ones.

For one, I think the 'training' and 'fighting' system isn't really good. This is also with the Moonlight dating Sim. The graphics of the enemy/bubble head and the way you fight is a bit dodgy, simplistic and makes it seem cheap. The fighting-wild-beast was ok, probably just need a bit more refined graphics, but the training was annoying. I know this probably isn't your forte, but if you can't really come up with a more effective way to approach the fighting aspect in the future, perhaps it'll be best to stick to just raise training levels by simply clicking a button and deducting hp.

In your earlier games, you included a bit more interesting things in the game, for example more items, clothing, make-up before date, film for photos etc rather than just talk talk talk, work work work, gift gift gift, level level level. I know this is a different type of game, but it's those small variations that make the game more interesting and not monotonous. The background and level of detail in graphics also seem to be declining... the love dating sims were so cute and appealing! Dress it up a bit more! The endings in this sim are also more... bland. And I know you're just trying to be funny and casual with the little comments in the game about ...how 'Bomee's lazy, therefore I'm underdeveloped', the 'I choose you now' or some other similiar pokemon inspired line, etc, but they get a little tiring after a while and kills the mood of the game.

I like the idea of your plots, as they've so much potential, but when compared to your earlier sims, I think this and the other newer ones are a little plainer and more boring.
