Reviews for "Mad Vlad II: Revamped"

Fun!

I've always thought of you as more a coder than an artist. Needless to say, when you create something like this (a beautiful and expansive game containing quite a interesting sense of humour) I naturally feel a little scared... You're a triple-threat!

The only qualm that I had with the controls was that using 'a' for jump didn't feel very intuitive. Maybe you could've used the space bar instead?

Your backgrounds were a joy to behold! The somewhat saturated colours really added mood to the proceedings along with the music, setting the scene perfectly for your comedic, anachronism-packed romp.

Story-wise, the way in which the absurd was dealt with in such a serious and stern manner was fantastic. The story, which was portrayed superbly through well-placed cut scenes, was certainly a laugh.

Very well done with this game, Paranoia, I thoroughly enjoyed playing it. Work a bit on your characters (they looked a little cut-out/static at some points) and soon you'll be not only a phenomenal coder, but a truly awesome artist.

'Grats!

Paranoia responds:

Hehe, I thought someone would pick up on the cardboard cut-outs sooner :P When you're as slow with the mouse as me and you're limiting yourself to a morning per cut-scene, you don't really have much room in terms of animation. Maybe when I'm making something shorter :)

glitchy as hell

like the last few people to say stuff, this game is really glitchy, and dont pull the "Its a player issue" thing becuase thats atleast 4 people now that have said something, so maybe you should try to fix it.

Otherwise it might be an ok/good game

Paranoia responds:

I'm assuming it's a player issue, since I've never had any problems and it's only occurring in a small portion of players. Blame Adobe, then update your player.

Great game till the end...

The music was decent and there were no sound effects but because of the catchy storyline you could really overlook that. Apart from that the level design was good and I liked the art style (it reminds a little bit of Yoshi's Island). As said the story was very good.

Now to my rant: In the final fight (flying around with Derek) the controls seem to lag sometimes completely and sometimes Vlad stops to move for about 5 seconds or more. I know this doesn't have to be a classical programming bug, but it's like saying "you know what player?`I hate you that you've played through the whole game and now I'm gonna frustrate you totally".
So if there's anyway you could improve the player controls I'd be very glad...

major glitching problem

I never actually got to play the game. I select new game, watch the opening scene (amazing by the way) and when I selected the first level, glitchy chaos! So I exited and reloaded the game (Omega pain!) And tried again, only this time I skipped the opening movie and then the level select screen went to glitchy chaos I could select the level to play. So I reload the game once more (and prayed) and this time I watched the opening movie again and selected the first level, and it went major glitchy and sped through all of the pause options and unpaused at light speed, I could do nothing. Please fix these glitches so I can actually play this potentially great game.

Great!

But one problem: I can't take the bottle of wine in the village. I repetead the entire level with the engines three times. I can take the oil, I get the animation for takin the bottle, but it didn't appear on my inventary and the othet guy always tell me that he needs both. But I've already taken! Help!

Great Game, however.
