the game would be alot more fun though if it where easier (less birds, cheaper items, and or stayed cleaner longer) or there was a save system set up at the begining of each level because as it stands its really hard.

This game is not nearly as hard or flawed as you make it out to be. After the third level it is too easy. That's why it only gets 8 from me. I got bored at around level 17 and I just quit. Other than that it's a good game.
Protip: Defense seems like it does little to nothing at first, but when you have 100 defense it's really impossible to die. At least it was at the point I decided to quit.
