Reviews for "Mouse Avoider #30"

fun

i like the graphics...pretty flashing colours : D

Pretty ok

I've seen better ones.. but this is pretty good, try making it a bit hard though next time. And try to add more variety and make the lvls bigger.

A few complaints...

The concept for this game is about the least original there is, but at least this one looks good and is not extremely difficult, unlike some other mouse-avoider games out there. There are a few problems with this game, but they are relatively minor.
1. When a button says "try again," clicking it should let you try again (restart the level), not take you back to the main menu. A button that does that should say "menu"
2. On the level select menu, the "level 10" is a noobish button--you have to click exactly on the letters, not on any space in between.
3. If a game has a time limit, it should have some sort of display of that limit. I only discovered that there was a time limit when I ran out of time, and I couldn't find anywhere that said I had a time limit or what that limit was.

None if these make the game unplayable, but they are annoying. You should fix them (which should be easy to do).

Hmm...

I've never really been a fan of mouse avoider games, but this is a decent attempt, I'll give you that. Good use of your own music, I note - see my own review of that track for more info.

What I didn't fine ameanable was that the levels aren't structured so that you can return to the level you just failed at if you lose - you have to start over, which is quite morale sapping. When you lose, I'd have the option to continue or return to the menu.

Plenty of file space remains, so I'd add others of your tracks and give the users a chance to hear more of your music - you're diverse enough to give a decent array of tunes.

still a lot of rough edges

Mouse avoider games are close to my heart, as my first game (rol-ovir) essentially followst the same rules - touch this, avoid that.

The level 8 idea was fairly fresh and I did like the fact that you had a bunch of different obstacles. I liked the spinning wheel level (5?) though I was disappointed the centre part really didn't affect us - as we could just stay in the outer ring. There were a bunch of varied ideas and that's always good to see.

I played through the levels one by one until failing level 10 3 times. What really annoys me about your game is that after each mistake we need to go through the menu again before we can retry. Also, some of the obstacles seem more focused on being difficult than interesting. I'd just prefer the latter, whereas it seems you aim for both, but lean towards the challenge.

Level 10 seemed a bit dull too. I don't know if there's a bonus 11th level after completing it, but...

It seems a good effort for your first game. Maybe clean up the mazes a bit by using the subselect tool (A) to clean up the paths and have some straight sections, rather than just using a square eraser and making it a tad messy.

Also, losing whenever we clicked was annoying - I use a pen and there's just no need for that sorta 'cheat prevention'. Instead, use mcs and use a 'hittest' function, rather than having buttons.

Out of curiousity, is the number a vague approximation of how many were released on NG in the past month?

Great first game, though there's still a lot of rough edges - mainly pushing us back to the screen selection - to overcome.
