Reviews for "Still Annoyed"

LOVED IT!

This gave me tears in my eyes, due to the fact that I beat all my mario games..poor bowser, I loved the part where he said that peach will go back to him because he was rich.

Vixin-McCloud responds:

Tissues to the right!

Seriously though, poor Bowser indeed. Mario always has to stand in his way even when he's not really doing anything bad! Maybe Bowser should teach Mario a lesson!

lol portal :D

will you have my babies?

but on a serious note. awesome flash, congratulations. although why it didn't get "daily first award" can only be explained by the mass of 13year chronic masturbaters, with severe retardation, that vote 3 for some unexplained reason.

Vixin-McCloud responds:

That or two other flashes rating higher then this one. Last I checked, this was only two points off second. Oh well...bad-timing...again. At least the majority like it! ^^

A Superior Sprite Flash w/ a Superior Song Parody

There's really not enough Bowser love out there, thanks for shining the spotlight on the koopa kingpin. :)

A good selection of cameos, great song parody (will have to check out the site now), and well-timed execution using sprites instead of the usual 'toss it up there and hope somebody gets a kick outta seeing their favorite character onscreen' mentality of the majority of sprite flashers.

Vixin-McCloud responds:

Nice to know people still get a kick out of my movies and not in the way most sprite flashes are! Thanks for the nice comment! ^^

That has got to be...

That has got to be the 3rd or 4th sexiest thing I have seen in a long time. That pretty much puts your animation just behind a VW bus full of naked cheerleaders and pumpkin pie with extra whipped cream.

But on a more serious note, that flash was amazing... AND it was done with sprites. I should note that I have nothing against sprite flashes intrinsically, but I do hold them up to the same standards that I hold all flash animations to. I ask that they have a story, or if not a direct story (I would argue that yours is indirect since you build off of the whole Mario franchise) some sort of context. I ask that there be substance, such as beautiful, beautiful satire or comedy. Finally, I ask that it be well produced, which this flash is. Everything flows together, the animation is never choppy, and only ever pixelated where necessary.

On the vain of technical aspects, the song parody of "Still Alive" from portal was amazing. I was not sure what to expect when the flash was loading, but I recognized the song immediately when it began playing. I am curious as to who did the singing. It really came out very well.

I am honestly not sure what more I can say. Your technical elements are top notch. Your comedy is top notch. Heck, this entire flash from concept to implementation is top notch. I can honestly give no constructive criticism on how to make it better. You avoided many of the pitfalls of others who make music videos - bad syncing, overusing bits of animation, bad timing, pointless line movement etc.

Good job man. You made something awesome. Now sit back, relax, eat some cake (which will hopefully be provided) and rejoice that your flash is still alive. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must go, as there are blams to be performed on other flashes that are still alive.

Vixin-McCloud responds:

Well you're precise in your reviewing if nothing else. Being a girl though, not sure what to think being near the bus full of naked cheerleaders...Anyway, since you so willingly gave a detailed review, I shall give a detailed response where possible.

I noticed the hint of being surprised that a well done flash was done with sprites. Not that I blame you. The really crappy flash movies don't even show sprites in a decent format let alone at decent pace. I would like to stress this now that decent sprite movies are NOT as easy people claim them to be. A lot of them have seperate parts of the sprite animated so they can tilt the head and such, but that is bad! Looks like the sprite broke their neck then. I never do that. Always use the whole sprite for a pose and if the pose changes, so does the sprite. Like frame by frame drawing. A lot of the time, I have to edit poses (which isn't a real big ask) on different sheets (in Paint. NEVER edit sprites on Flash) and on some cases with this next flash I'm starting, even build animatalbe sprite sheets for someone.

Getting off topic though, your idea that the story is indirect is true otherwise I would have only stuck to the first game which through the song is impossible. Mario doesn't actually blow up anything in the first game and doesn't happen until Yoshi's debut game. For that reason, the Cameo egg is there. Also works as a bit of random humour which the flash has quite a bit off. You'll notice the Death Note book come out of nowhere and the Sonic Activity book during the part of Novels on tape. For the animation, again new sprite for each pose. Some poses I can re-use if needed, but the whole flash becomes frame by frame in a way then so its smooth, but I can also tween when need to and providing I keep the speed of the tweening to the speed that the character would move at depending on the action at the time, it all blends in well.

In regards to the song, I'm glad you like it. If you want to know who sang it and where it came from, I left all details in the credits which clearly, no one bothered to watch. Last time I make them a separate viewing. May people have been bringing this down all cus' of the song itself! There are hundreds or maybe even thousands of music clips on Newgrounds and out of ll I've seen, this is the first time I have ever seen people so focused on the music rather then the animation. I could understand if the song was playing at a bad quality or was too soft or loud, but the singing itself? Out of my control! Also that was why I added subtitles so people could still understand despite the voice!

Oh well, enough ranting from me. What more can I say? Thanks for the review, for the score of 10, for feeding the ego (had to throw that one in XD) and giving me a good laugh! You really made my day!

lol very nice

i really liked it i alwayes like seeing the point of view of the vilan

Vixin-McCloud responds:

Who doesn't? There's two sides to every story and poor Bowser never gets to tell his side all that often!
