Reviews for "SimianLogic's Filler"

Really fun!

I got to around level 20 before I started getting pissed at the little bouncy bastards!

As for constructive criticism, I'm going to have to agree with Krall and say you need more color, or at least better shading. Make the visuals a little more interesting. :)

I also agree that there should be a difficulty setup.

Other than that, it's a great game and I'm sure to play it again. Thanks!

Reminds me of JezzBall...

Brilliant timewaster, you have to be good with reading the balls and timing your releases, pretty challenging, especially with a limited # of balls to create. Really reminds me of Jezzball, with the avoidance of obstacles with a object that has a (fairly) static movement based on a mouseclick...very nicely done. I'm gonna have to work on it (when I'm sober), try and actually get better at this one!

Simple, but elegant and addictive!

I liked this game, it was innovative...Very simple, but in a good and elegant way. The one thing that the instructions didn't quite make clear...Once a ball is "finished" by letting go of the mouse or touching an existing ball, then it's permanent. The bouncy balls can't destroy the finished balls, they can only destroy ones you're growing on your mouse. (And maybe you could think of another term for "bouncy balls", like evil spheres? Less confusing. ;) )

I got a little frustrated when I was growing this really large ball only to have it popped right as I was letting go of the mouse. Still, I suppose that's part of what makes the gameplay interesting--How far do you push your luck?

Anyway, great job!

Pretty good game.

What's with all the people giving either 10's or 0's?

You've got a pretty good game here. At least I found it pretty addictive, though I can definitely see how it would get pretty frustrating.
My first suggestion is that you work on graphics. That dull gray gets pretty boring pretty quickly. Things don't have to be bright and cheerful, but even just a little brown would really help. I would suggest making some simple backgrounds, maybe a few different gradients blended together and blurry, and perhaps having the background change every level, or every few levels. Maybe a distinct progression from one color to the next as the game goes on or something.

Also, you could play around with difficulty levels. Maybe make an easy mode where the bouncy balls move slowly and the game ends after level 10, etc. For future games, choosing differently sized playing areas could prove interesting.

Fun stuff!

The "this game sucks" group must be halo or cs players. I enjoyed this immensely with the speed I had to react and the amount I had to think to get the bouncy ones trapped to make my life easier as well as trying to line up combos to clear space to put more down. Made it to level 15 before pulling my hair out looking at all the bouncing ones and saying no way. Great job.
