Reviews for "Project Inthri 3"

Awesome if only for the music

The music from PSO-(and BB) made me smile. Apart from that it was very well done.

really nice

Very nice game. The boss battles were all very well done, even the mini bosses. I found this game very difficult, even on easy mode, so it was a really good challenge. To those who finished it on Lunatic, well done.

I personally haven't played Project Inthri 1 or 2, so I found the story a little lacking. Very nice backgrounds, although they sometimes obscured the action. What really set this game apart for me was the last few levels. I like the way you set it up as a 'boss level', 'fun level', 'impossible level'. Well done, keep it up.

Meh

-Shoot the core :3
-We know that >:(

Solid programming

I really enjoyed the boss fights, which reminded me somewhat of the Contra series. Couple problems I found though were 1) up-right is the only diagonal that actually worked when using the arrows to control and 2) you really need to inform the player when what looks like a little dialog scene is actually them taking control of a different ship.

And after 70 or so "This reminds me of Starfox" reviews, someone finally catches the Contra homages ;)

Good game

First off, let me say, I loved the huge homage to the Touhou Project games with the theme of that extra stage. I managed to beat it after finishing lunatic mode and it was a very enjoyable challenge.

Anyways, you have some really great boss design, they were each done very well. I enjoyed how the stages tended to have a little "gimmick" to them to make things interesting, like the sub-boss in the asteroid field and an ally occasionally popping in to kick some ass.

Despite that, I have a few suggestions for how to make the next game a little better:
- There needs to be a better contrast between the background scene and the action. Level 4 in particular was confusing because enemy bullets would blend in with the armada in the background and when the sub boss started firing his laser at me off screen, I didn't realize I was getting hurt because his later looked very similar to the ones I had seen earlier in the background.
- The player's hit box seemed bigger than the sprite. In these kinds of games, you should usually err on the side of a smaller hit box. It made the large number of (homing) bullets throughout some of the later stages on Lunatic mode nearly impossible to dodge accurately.
- A pause feature would be VERY welcome. Or even some sort of "press any button to continue" thing between stages and after dying would be nice. After dying several times, I wanted to take a break without losing my progress or score but that wasn't possible and was a bit frustrating.
- An online leaderboard.

Keep up the good work!
