It's alright
The sprite animation is pretty mediocre, and I only chuckled a few times. I honestly don't see where the praise for this series comes from. You certainly have potential, though. I'd suggest trying more custom sprites for your next one.

Great Plot.
I enjoyed how you created a different story of what was going on while Mario was traveling through space. Pure Genius. I also enjoyed how original you were with it. Like when Steves child was actually the very first boss in the game. I loved the music from the game as well. I can tell you worked incredibly hard on this one. I just wish I knew were Jeff and Hal were sent when they flew into that black hole! Keep these coming. Hal and Jeffs storys are way more interesting than Marios story.
