Reviews for "Pixelated World"

Very cool!

This sounds as if half of the song was made up from an 8 bit nintendo track then had modern elements added to it. The evolution of the melody is very fun to listen to, as it phases between high qual to low qual, quite amazing actually. I picture an 8 bit graphic sprite jumping off of the screen and coming into our real life! Then has to jump back into their 2d world, because they do not belong here. Hehe :) I really enjoyed this.

Step responds:

Aw thanks :3. I really like the fact that you think it has that retro VG sound but still has a modern sound, since that is exactly what I was aiming for.

Thanks again! Means a lot coming from an experienced judge like you!

This makes me SMILE :D

This entire song is so fluent! Its brilliant,i must say!
...And i have exams too noooooo D:
10/10 5/5

Step responds:

Well, my exams are over now so I've got till late September without school ;D.

Thanks for the review! I'm glad you liked it, and good luck with those exams!

Realy nice

Good work man, I feal like putting on my pixle glasses and watching the world go by made of old skool pixles. Nice work.

Step responds:

That would be sweet :D.

Thanks for reviewing!

Another great song...

I like what you created here (have I ever disliked anything you made? I don't think so). I like the combination of 8-bit-sounds together with a nice drum track. I also like the mood of this song. It could be used in various situations. Battles, Towns, Racing games... you name it.

In the intro the song starts rather slow, but it builds up the longer it plays. I always like this in songs...

So yeah, another masterpiece by Supersteph. ;)

Haha thanks! I'm surprised you're saying that because you've been reviewing my stuff since 2009 and those songs are so old xP.

Great! I didn't have a particular theme in mind when making the track, which is something that a friend of mine pointed out when I was working on the song, but I guess that just makes the song a little more diverse, which is cool I guess.

"In the intro the song starts rather slow, but it builds up the longer it plays. I always like this in songs..."

Heh, yep I'm a big fan of making progressive intros such as this one. I find it very hard to actually start a song out of nowhere (something which is important for loops), and I always like to give the intro a bit of a progression.

And another great review by Haggard :D. Thanks a lot, I appreciate the review, and thanks for adding me to your favourite artists list as well!

Why is it that everything you make so epic?

Freaking genius, man. Mainly a fan of your orchestral rock and regular rock. I recognized that melodic falling at 2:12 from another piece of yours, but I'm not sure which at the moment.
I liked the fast paced drums and square lead's melodies. I saw this title and thought, "Oh man, he's made something with classic 8-bit? I gotta hear this." No, it ended up being a lot better than I hoped. Genius with composition, like usual. Kudos to you.

I have one complaint though. The intro buildup to 0:16 sounded like it was supposed to have an awesome fast-paced transition. It was a little slow for me, regarding mood, not tempo. I'd say use more 16th notes on the drums for a bit, but that's just my opinion. Do what you will with that.

Overall 9/10, 5/5, downloaded. Pretty awesome addition to NG's video game music.

Hey man :D. Thanks for stopping by and reviewing this!

Haha thanks xD.

Thank you. Yeah I do need to make another orchestral rock song sometime. I don't know when though, it depends entirely on when my mind stops taking its sweet-ass time to give me some inspiration to make a good rock song >C.

"I recognized that melodic falling at 2:12 from another piece of yours, but I'm not sure which at the moment."

Yeah I use it a lot, lol. It may be from my 'School-Leaving Beat' but I've made melodic fallings like that loads of times.

"I liked the fast paced drums and square lead's melodies."

Glad you like them! I'm relieved that I managed to keep the square lead's melodies in my head for such a long time - I probably thought of them sometime around February or March - maybe even earlier, but I couldn't keep them in my head any longer and had to turn them into a song.

From the time period that I thought of this melody, I also thought of a cool bassline which will fit perfectly in a trippy ambient song, and a cool piano intro for something heavenly (product of me trying to make a song for the heavenly NAC competition), but I haven't managed to turn those into songs yet.

Lol. If there's one thing I'm bad at, it's 8-bit... trust me xP.

You know that's not such a bad idea. The only problem is that if I make the drums in that buildup any faster, they might make the part afterwards (at 0:16) even more anti-climatic than it already is, which won't do :P.

Thanks a lot. Really glad you enjoyed the submission, and thanks for the great feedback!
