Reviews for "Space Melody Score"

wow

its soft its sweet its delicate, and i like it.

it have a very well use of times, u really know how to not saturate the song, i recomend you to play more with the progressions and the times to give it more shape and make it more fun to hear.
nice song :)

auroalee1 responds:

haha, yeah, progressions are kind of a weakness for me. I often feel like I'm stuck in the same chord progression, or rthym and I can't seem to get out of it. This was one of those rare occations when I came up with something "new", and I took off running with it. Finished it in a week. lol. :)

That's so much for the high rating and the feedback. :D

5/5

Great work! I loved how chilled out and melancholy it sounded, and like... SPACEY. I think it would be fit in well with the comet thing. The soft piano and the harp (or whatever they were) worked just great together! NICE ONE.

auroalee1 responds:

Not a harp... it's a synth, like what you would hear in a nintendo video game. Doesn't quite sound like it though, with the rest of the instruments. :)

When I first made this, I thought it sounded pretty space-like too. The piano reverberates to much, I think.

Musically Sound

Objectivly speaking:
Very well made, well equalised, lots of variety in the instuments.

5/5!

Subjectivly speaking:
I found it to be a bit safe sounding - a meteor collision sounds like the perfect time to experiment with dissonance to me! I would've liked to feel alot more drama throughout.
Which leads onto my next point; in my opinion the music did not match the video well in eb and flow. I'm judging this strictly as a soundtrack when I say this.

2/5 (It's subjective of course though, so take it with a grain of salt)

auroalee1 responds:

haha, yeah that's what a lot of my friend told me when I was making it. "More dissonance! Electric guitar!!"... however, I feel that the untraditional sound gives the event of a meteor impact a different feel, not of destruction, but of change (signified by the chord changes).

I do understand your point though, and actually, I'm in the process of "redo-ing" the video with a new, and more approiate soundtrack.

Thanks so much for the review!!! :)

COuld be a better song for the ending of FFVII!!

Sucky music in that game but...
THIS IS GOOD MUSIC! NO better then great! I love softer emotional songs like this, this is going on my mp3 player!
HMmmm though I just thought of another use for it, which I'll send you a message about.

P.S. what'd you do the choir/chorus with?

auroalee1 responds:

haha, some miracle must have occured with the chorus, because I was just using a basic "choir DSK". Usually it sounds like a peice of crap. I was soooo pleased when it sounded as good as it did.

Glad you liked it. xD

HOW FUNNY.

I LITERALLY tried to review this right before you reviewed mine.
Haha, but then my laptop exploded. NOW.
Here's what I said...
"Meteor colliding with earth."
That one line set a whole new mood for this song.
I imagine this song playing as destruction and debris lie everywhere.
Reminds of Canon on D.
I wouldn't change a single thing. It's amazing.

auroalee1 responds:

Yeah, i'm not sure how well this music fit with the image of a meteor hitting Earth, but I'm glad I was able to connect with someone. It makes more sence in the video. The music is a very sureal look at the destruction of the earth, instead of the more common, "hard-core" version.

thanks for the high rating. :)
