Reviews for "Alfred's Playhouse Pt. 3"

Incredible

Deeply disturbing trilogy, but although it's more chaotic in the first 2, this last one ended it perfectly. Great metaphor between choosing to face the hard truth of reality or giving into your reclusive mind; I was expecting a more off the wall ending, honestly, but I think this ending is what makes it even more disturbing. Your depiction of the dissociative mind as Dictator Pickles and the Playhouse is fantastic, and the symbolism of giving into himself is brilliant.

I watched this some time back, and rewatched the trilogy today after seeing "Alfred gets Fixed" on the front page. I like it, I really do. Very dark and uncomfortable to watch, but... you don't forget it very easily. As soon as I saw the picture of Alfred on the front page, I was instantly reminded of how dirty I felt after watching this trilogy the first time, ha. I never commented though, I figured I'd go ahead and comment now. Great work, even if it is a little disturbing and discomforting.

Well

I agree with LadyZim on that as well, but I also agree with you PsychoDistrakshun. Nothing is immune to the draw of power, I think you were referring to Dictator Alfred, and yes Alfred did want to control his effed up life giving birth to Dictator who, as I said before, did want power...at least the power to control Alfred.

holy crap

yeah ladyzim nailed it

wow

ladyzim nailed it

interesting

Have to admit, I didn't see that coming. Seems to be a metaphore for one losing their innocence and trying to make up for it by creating the happiest way of living with it that they know how. Not only did Alfred (or Pickles) lose his innocence, it was taken from him by force. As a result, he forced what was left of his old way of thinking to submit to a new, bastardized version of his own self. It wasn't power he was after, it was control; control over the filter of what gets in from the world and what goes out. In this case, what goes in is nothing and what goes out is unknown to the true Alfred hiding within himself.

At least, that's my take on. Full marks for a good wrap up.
