Reviews for "-Gunslinger-"

Heroic!

As I was listening, I kinda got a lone hero on his horse connotation from the instruments used, and I love it! Its not easy changing emotion using this form of music, but I really liked the changes of tone in the song, like from the beginning, fast paced stuff, to the slow more somber middle near 2:12. You sir, have created something great here today, thank you.

ChronoNomad responds:

Thank you for saying so! I enjoy the 'lone gunslinger' aspect of this composition a lot myself. The piano part almost wrote itself it flowed so easily. I strive to create great music, and although I love doing remixes and covers, it's my original work that seems to draw the most attention. That's a good thing in my book.

I'm glad that you like it, and thanks for the great review.

Truly, one of a kind

This is beautiful, I honestly have never heard a western inspired song on Newgrounds, this totally blew me away, and I absolutely love the way you made it in a totally contemporary way.

The one thing I don't feel sounds right is the acoustic guitar, it doesn't sound real, I'm not sure if it's an effect you used or if you created it in a program.

ChronoNomad responds:

Disclaimer: No guitars were harmed in the making of this musical production.

They're just digital instrument samples, so I do the best I can. Of course anyone could debate how 'real' a digital sound sample is since it came from an actual guitar at one point. It all depends on what you constitute as being real, I suppose. Sadly I don't own a guitar, but I do possess knowledge of guitar chords and progression...so that helps.

Thanks for the review, and I'm glad that you like it! I must admit, I've never really heard anything else like this on NG either. It clearly has an audience, so I'm happy! :)

Hmmm..

sounds like you should put with a legend of zelda thingy.

ChronoNomad responds:

I am quite familiar with The Legend of Zelda, but I have no idea what this 'thingy' you refer to might be. My only guess is that you mean this would sound good in a LoZ game, but I generally wouldn't picture this as background music in one of those titles. Nevertheless, that would certainly be amazing! Thanks.

dude this totally reminded me

of that game thats coming out for kinect called gunstringer where you control this skeleton cowboy and shoot stuff like a petuuu marksman this is epic!

ChronoNomad responds:

I know nothing about the game of which you speak, but I appreciate your review! Randomness is always appreciated here. :)

Great

I love it in many ways it gives me that kind of western feal its is almost like in the movies but better!

ChronoNomad responds:

The Western feel is quite intentional, I assure you. Better than in the movies? Nice of you to say so! :)
