Reviews for "The Hobbit - Act I"

ow, my ears

Graphics were good.
Work on your comedic timing; there were parts that would've been funnier if they had been better executed. Also, I'm sure I would have appreciated the humor more if I wasn't trying to claw my ears out from the incredibly annoying voices.

Abysmal in pretty much every aspect

Animation- Same 'ol same 'ol. Do I even have to say anything? Anything I could possibly write here has been said and resaid 50 million times and all you do is ignore it. Ugly tweened gradient raped characters with little to no real animation.

Humor- Pretty much all your humor seems to revolve around one kind of joke: characters veering off topic and acting "silly and random." It's not even funny the first time and that's pretty much the only thing you do.

Voice Acting- This is probably the worst part of all. You read your lines in such a lifeless kitsch infused way it's painful to listen to. Tip, if the character is talking to someone, read the lines as if the character is actually talking to someone.

My advice would be to step our of your pathetic bubble for once and try something new, or just stop.

I just don't know

Your humor needs work, you use the same kind of humor in all your movies. The character just randomly go off topic and do or say something completely random or silly (in most cases having to do with food) I'll give you an example

Camera Zooming in to Sauron's face talking in a deep voice: I'll destroy middle-earth if it's the last thing I do, my plan will be fool proof (insert cliche OF A cliche evil laugh making them gasp for air between laughing)...BUT FIRST GET ME MY PIZZA!!!

There you can use that joke for your next episode. I also never really did like your voice work (especially in this movie) but honestly, you couldn't have picked a worse person to do Gandalf, he doesn't sound old or anything. I don't even think the art & animation is very good in this, everything just seems to be made out of simple Circles.

I'm new to your work

I've read the reviews and yeah, some people love it while others hate it. I gotta' say that I was one who hated it. I didn't care for the jokes. Watching the story unfold was fun and all (that's why there are a few stars up) but I really hated how it dragged on. I really wanted it to end. Characters were interesting, plot was a dead-given, but the side jokes weren't funny (to me at least).

On a side-note, somehow the sound file and the subtext didn't match up. I checked one of your other works and it did it there too. It must be something new in flash that is causing it. I didn't consider it your fault. I'll just move along now.

Tiresome

Although I can't really fault the animation, the dialogue wasn't funny and the voices were horrible. The attempts at British accents were skewed at best, and Bilbo's voice was like nails on a chalkboard - I couldn't bear to listen to him and stopped watching at the Misty Mountains before anymore of my soul was hacked away by his shrill ramblings.
