BORING
It is fun for a while. But then you get bored with the music and the game play.
The same concept over and over again.

great style and feel
Great style and feel to the game... everything looked like it belonged in the world you created. .
I felt like controlling the character behaved the same way every time i pressed a key, which was great seeing as how many platformers fall into a "bad control" category.
puzzles were great, using power and key to warp to the next stage was a nice touch so as to make it more than just a "collect the coins" game.
some suggestions:
sound:
The music can be a bit annoying because of the short loop. i realize there was an "audio off" toggle, but another way to get around this is to have the music fade in and fade out, at random times, into a different sound loop. you will still have your great sound loop, but only for about 20-40 seconds at a time, then a change of tempo and sound will break up the reptitiveness.
platform jumping:
you did not allow the alien detective to jump "through" a platform, as in standing below and jumping through to the top. but it was not untill a few levels in that i realized that was actually happening (i thought it was just a screwy jump code at first).
this is a great way to go, but you may want to lower the point of contact where the character "bumps his head" so to speak. it will give each platform a more solid feel. right now as it stands the character can jump through rock, only to hit his head on the air on the other side of the rock. it made those "would have made it" jumps a little less frustrating. personally i think the game would have felt better if i could "cloud" jump, so to speak.
ending:
this is something that i just have a real hard time with too... the ending.
after spending hours and hours writing the code, who has time for an ending?
well, honestly this game needed an ending... and an intro for that matter.
after 15 levels of problem solving i wanted to see him blast off and blow up earth or something that i was trying to accomplish by getting fuel (other than a high score).
Overall you have a good game here, and i liked the fact that i could download it or post it to my site... all great touches.

its nice but what are you talking about? 'detective'? 'mystery'? its just a platformer(a good one but still) and i completed the game but there was no 'final secret'
