Not bad, but needs a fair amount of work.
I like the concept, and the dialog from the warlord was funny. Also, the character sprites were well done. However, the short range of the sword got annoying, but I could handle that with a slash & run method of attack.
The thing that got me the most was the limited ammo of the gun. To be honest, I rarely used it (mostly against those mobile turrets), and relied almost entirely on my sword. The gun was kind of pointless in boss fights for this reason, because I would
get 2 shots out and I'm running around scavenging for ammo, so it begs the question "If it's not useful, then why have it?". Besides opening doors, there wasn't much I could do with the gun that I could only get 3 worthwhile shots out of.
Besides that, I like the use of procedurally generated maps, since each time I go into the game, the "dungeon" has a completely different layout. That adds a lot to the replayability. If you intend to make future released of this game, I would recommend putting some kind of puzzle or something that will add a little bit more variety to the mix. Something like: instead of using the gun to open up the door, try having a little mini-game where the player needs to complete a circuit that can only be done if they have a piece they get after defeating a boss. Just a suggestion.
I hope to see more stuff from you.
fun but short
pwned it in like 10 minutes. try to make a sequel or sompthin but longer and more dificult. zelda is all bout puzzles and mind games.
