Reviews for "Neon Shooter Demo"

Not My Style, But Good.

I am Just Saying That . . . It's got great graphics, the soundtrack is a little quezzie, but the game is way better that what I'm saying.

Good start

You may have something good there, just need to have some sort of evolution. Add some levels, make your enemies weak at the beginning, then hve them get stronger, have different attack patterns, shoot lazers or missiles or spawn monsters. So that you have a sense of advancing. You could have power-ups or upgrades to be selected between levels, or dropped by enemies, something like a permanent boost.

Games that had me hooked had something like that, think about other games that you like for inspiration, it always helps. I'm not too good at flash, so I couldn't give you technical advices, but you seem pretty good to begin with.

I liked the ship design, its new, to me anyways. You could have something to do to get the neat little orbs that follow you. You could even try including some powers for them, like having to choose between them, or not, it's up to you, I'm just brainstorming here. I really liked the demo.

Keep up the good work, I'll be looking forward to seeing the final product!

This game's cool.

But you might want to change the shooting sound. I'm looking forward to playing the full version when you make it.

Good stuff.

A very cool and interesting idea, if a bit raw (but that is to be expected). A few issues; the music stopped a few minutes into the game (missing a loop function?), and when I hit a score of 137, enemies seemed to cease popping up.

The movement is a bit awkward if you don't keep moving (because two pixels can translate to 180 degrees), but it is very smooth.

The music is neat and suits the game, but I would suggest a slightly higher quality (might just be me), and if you can spare it, another beat or two with some techno-esque influence.

The graphics are cool, and very original. I assume you intend to use another font in the final product, however. Arial was not meant for trippy Asteroids clones.

I would like to suggest implementing the conservation of momentum; it's kind of corny when you're moving quickly and you fire and the projectile is going slower than you are. It also makes it awkward to charge into enemies while firing, because you have to move out of the way or the enemy will hit you before it hits the bullet.

As far as powerup ideas, if you intend to make this game a fast-paced OMGOMGOMG shooter, include some backwards-shooting and four-way shooting powerups, some powerups that just increase your score, and if you realy want to go overkill, a powerup that makes it so that when your bullet hits an enemy, three more shoot out in random directions. All these would be more suitable to, as I said, a fast-paced WTF shooter, which I think this game could well be.

I enjoyed the game, sluggish as it was, and I look forward to its release.

needs more

ONLY 80 GLOWY THINGS TO SHOOT? HMMM if you had 100 youd get a ten, you get an 8, >:(

jk, 8 becuase it could use levels, more powerups and perhaps a purpose for the orbs tht follow your main ship, (like shooting out other mini worms thats fight the enimies with lil firepower) also, id love to see upgrades, make it in 3d, sell it to microsoft as xbox 360 game....wait nvm good game, deserves an 8
