WAY better than the first.
-WARNING, SOME SMALL SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW-
Wow, that was a bit too realistic for me, especially that maggot infestation, ugh. I really enjoyed the audio for all of the areas of the game. I liked the contrast in audio in levels 1 and 3. FIrst, having all these screams you get the feeling that death is constantly in the air. Then, on level 3, you just hear the pit-patter of the rain with not even a stomp of a soldier to hear. (The sound of a bullet and blood everywhere at the beginning of the game scared me so much. I had the volume up max because the game sounded like it was gonna start of quiet. 0_0) With the graphics, though, you really do get the feeling that you're really doing operations on patients. I was pretty disappointed that when you get all the achievements that you don't get any reward, except for knowing that you've "achieved" all the achievements. The final operation I think was the perfect way to end the game. The little black and white areas where you hurt a patient really gives you the feeling of what pain is. I found it pretty hilarious to watch your first flash, how it's all joyful, then to amputate my own leg a few seconds afterwards. You might want to fix that where you have to remove shrapnel from that guys forehead, that you don't kill him by accidently putting the shrapnel in his head rather than taking it out. (Though it does make plenty of sense that that would kill a man in real life.) Something that everybody should be aware of when performing the final surgery on yourself is that you need to move the saw back and forth, back and forth, back and forth fully. Not just barely moving your mouse to move the saw in order to do it quickly. It either will work 100x slower than if you did it right, or it won't work at all. I tried that the second time I did the operation, and it was LOOONG. This was a very good game though. Aside from not getting anything from the achievements. It's the type of game that yo can play over and over again and not get bored of it. Great job! =D
***ACHIEVEMENTS, DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS***
The first four achievements are easy, just play the game. Note: In case you haven't seen the note that jmtb02 left in the Author Comments box, it is very good to give the patient as much alcohol as you can. This leads to the next achievement, the Town Drunk. This one is relatively easy, too. Just give any patient enough alcohol so that it's up to 100%. The next one has to be done on the final surgery, Good Sport. When you are amputating your leg, after you drug yourself with whisky, you will get a will bar. This bar is basically a life saver. Even if your health reaches zero, as long as you mash that space bar, it'll keep you alive. If you press it enough, you will get the Good Sport achievement by filling it up 100%. There's no rush, though. Because, like I said, as long as it's filled up enough, you can't die. The next achievement, Take The Pain, can happen on any surgery, but I find it easiest on the last. What you have to do is finish a surgery with the patient having less that 5% drunkenness. I think this is easiest on the last one because you can't die, so you can keep on hitting that space bar until you drunkenness is gone, then you can finish up and get the achievement. And finally, there's the Easter Egg. This is by far the easiest, since all you need is a mouse. All you need to do is click the little 2 in Dark Cut 2 on the main menu. This will take you to jmtb02's first flash, which is what I was talking about in the summary of the game. I actually found it pretty good for a first flash. My friend has had flash for a year or so and can still barely do anything good on it at all, lol. As I said in my summary of the game, you don't get anything from getting all the achievements except knowing that you got them all. So don't feel like you have to get them all.
Wow, this has been the longest review I've ever written, I think. I must've really enjoyed this game to write a review with only... 47 characters remaining!
