You have toched my artistic soul.
Rarely do I ever review a flash animation because opinions meen little in the online world. But I felt compelled to reply to this one.
While your flash drawing skill is not clean and professional looking, it is well detailed while keeping the toonish elements. My only constructive criticism here is clean up the little bt of sketchyness left behind and smoothen out some lines. Otherwise i am very impressed.
Musicwise, it fit the mood of the flash well, though i felt the tone when he was sad could have been a bit lower and dramatic. but it picked up and carried a consistent sound and flow, Very well done.
Artistic Style: I have to say that is where you excel, the story you told without needing any fancy voice acting could have been done even without the parents voices at all (just would have add mom and her gestures into it) you didnt need over the top special effets or flashy camera angles to be dynamic, and that is what i liked about it, its simplistic yet holds intensely deep meaning. The art was drawn well enough to make the inner expressions felt without being cliche or overdramatic. Altogether I say you have done nicely here and this is what touched me.
Animation. A bit clunky in a few parts, but otherwise seamless and smooth. well done
overall. Nobou Uematsu once said that he beleived the ultimate language was music.. able to make people feel emotions and convey messages despite the language the audience speaks. I think you have done an exceptional job here proving that, and giving a visual aid to help people understand why this is true. I loved how you slipped in the death metal band, because all in all, music from the heart does seem to be slowly losing its charm to society.
I enjoy how the story retold itself technically 3 times in the flash without having to show it more than once, letting the world know they are not the only one, and that others can relate.
You did well here my friend. Please keep up the good work and continue to inspire many.
