Reviews for "Running Riot"

Nice

But its really annoying that you can't save, especially at the boss level.
Next time please work on upgrades and more dynamic gameplay.

NAMKCOR responds:

thanks, glad you liked it
like I said, it's simple and short cuz it was made for a Time Trial Competition, so I couldn't
do much fancy stuff or I wouldn't have finished it in time.

Pretty good

Pretty nice game loved the bunny flying at the screen animation :D. Only real problems was the lack of multiple lives and the bad lag (but that could just be my computer).

NAMKCOR responds:

thanks for the review, and sorry about the lag, I'm trying to see what I can do to fix that rite now.
I didn't do multiple lives because it would be too easy to win if I had.

Pretty Nice

The idea is awesome! If you go further on this, i mean new wapons, new moves... the sky is the limit

NAMKCOR responds:

Thanks for the review
Actually, 8 hours was the limit,
Again, it was a time trial piece, it's short I know

That was pretty good.

A little too easy, but I don't like a game to be too hard.
A nice little time-waster, which is just what a kid like me needs.

Nice animation, mediocre gameplay

It's not often that graphics make a game--in this case, they really do, though.

Good Stuff: Animations are wonderful. Korg is probably the least pretty of the bunch, but he oozes attitude out of every orifice of his body. The bunny minions are naive, yet dangerous as they waddle back and forth, and their splatter against the screen made me smile every time. The boss is nicely drawn as well, and you can certainly tell that Korg got his sweet revenge. I didn't have any trouble with the simple controls, and hit detection was generally in my favor, with only a few minor issues (that resulted in me not dying, fortunately.) The music was also appropriate and well-written--kudos to the individual composers for that!

Not-So-Good Stuff: The game was a walk in the park. I understand that you only had 8 hours to make it in, but it still feels more like an interactive smashing machine than a small game. Perhaps adding in a few extra elements--for example, a temporarily indestructible enemy, or a kind of obstacle to avoid--might have been a simple way to extend gameplay time. Also, the grammar during the story scene could have been proof-read a bit longer--not that the story scene really matters, but it helps improve the general image of the game.

Conclusion: It's certainly worth a play-through and will probably elicit a fiendish chuckle from the player (with the game, not at the game, mind you.) Go ahead--it's worth the short download time!
