Reviews for "Stigg's Veggie-Matic"

Bliss

Ahh...reminds me when I was a kid, and it was Dinner. Everyone had started on desert (cake!) when I still had a buncha carrots left. I just threw them at the wall and dived at the cake.

WarpZone responds:

Heh. Glad you liked it. :)

I notice you're a clock. Do check out my Clock Day animation. I think you might like it. ^

Its really good

Wow beat the boss, thats some mighty clicking. Its a good game. Like the idea of the veggie-matic. Very kids game so I think you fit the genre quite well.

WarpZone responds:

Thanks. :D Glad you liked it!

i liked it

i never would have thought of it. a machne that shots vegitables and the kid must be cloning them vegitables because all i did was fire like mad though out the whole game and he never run out.

overall i liked it and am glad it won

WarpZone responds:

Well, like the backstory for the Wiggi World website says, they have technology we can't even immagine on Earth. :D

(Also, they're stupid enough to come to Earth for help, even though Earth has wars and famine and corrupt politicians, and apparently Wiggi World doesn't.)

good game

I enjoy this game very much, I went to level 10, but will not there be the ending?

WarpZone responds:

Don't be fooled! There is an ending in level 10, although the timer stops!

You see, a boss appears in level 10. He is dark red, and very fat.

You must feed him completely, before he reaches the cake!

Good luck! He is very hungry. :)

stickey in some places but:

ok, decent game... but first? i hope they make some serious modifications on that cause my arm hearts like a bitch.... im thinking law suit... hehehe im suing you for 4000 smackers because your game broke my arm.... hehehe.

things to improve apon:
ok this is a game for little kids, is that realy who your targeting that at? just cause you have the theme of vegtables doesent mean its a kids game. that was a bitch for me, and im in gread 9. sory buti just cant justify that being a first place.
i never acualy got hit in the game but im asuming there is a death function. i did get close a few times tho. were im going with this is a kindergardener has no chance of seeing the punchline at the end. another reason why i cant see this wining.

things done well:
wow. that was a fantastic gun system. absolutly excelent... despite it was shooting vegitables. XD
excelent drawings and showmanship throughout (except the main menu. if you can make a game like that you could have put a little more effort in the main menu)
great randomitivity with the spawning and what not.

over all:
good game, however it needs some improvement. 7/10

WarpZone responds:

Heh. Sorry your arm hurts. :P I provided a pause button, though, that's what it's there for.

I've had people tell me that stage 1 is too easy, stage 6 is too hard, the whole game is too easy to be any fun, the whole game is too hard for children to beat, etc. etc.

The thing you have to keep in mind is, the game is for kids aged 5-12. That doesn't mean a 5 year old should be able to sit down and beat the game on his first try, the way you did. It also doesn't mean a 12 year old should find it almost impossible to beat and get hours of replay value out of trying to find a way to somehow conqure the last boss. It means 5 year olds should be able to play for a little while before the game ends, and 12 year olds should be able to beat the game, with maybe a little effort.

Now, there are factors that are beyond my control here that can make the game more challenging. What type of mouse interface you have. How old you are. How experienced of a gamer you are. The faster you feed wiggis, the faster new ones spawn, so in theory if you're a twitch gamer, you might wear yourself out in the early stages and end up with a tired hand by the time you gte to stage 6. I can't help it if that's the way you ended up playing. I did it this way so that a kid with good reflexes would always have something to shoot at, while a kid with poor reflexes could take his time working on one target at a time.

Your suggestions are all good ones, and you're not the first person to suggest them. Unfortunately, I only had 10 days to work on this. Towards the end, I was running out of time, and I implemented the stuff I could, with the most important gameplay features taking priority over stuff that would just be "nice to have" or stuff that I knew would take several days to develop. (Days which I didn't have, by that point.)

I'm glad you found it decent, though. I kinda think that's why it won. Not because everyone who played it thought it was perfect, but because no one who played it got frustrated, confused, or bored. In other words, it won because nobody hated it.
